usedincutting-edgemacroeconomicresearch.DSGE=dynamic,stochastic,generalequilibriumIntroduction,part2Thedynamicmodelofaggregatedemandandaggregatesupplyisbuiltfromfamiliarconcepts,suchas:theIScurve,whichnegativelyrelatestherealinterestrateanddemandforgoodsandservicesthePhillipscurve,whichrelatesinflationtothegapbetweenoutputanditsnaturallevel,expectedinflation,andsupplyshocksadaptiveexpectations,asimplemodelofinflationexpectationsHowthedynamicAD-ASmodelisdifferentfromthestandardmodelInsteadoffixingthemoneysupply,thecentralbankfollowsamonetarypolicyrulethatadjustsinterestrateswhenoutputorinflationchange.TheverticalaxisoftheDAD–DASdiagrammeasurestheinflationrate,notthepricelevel.Subsequenttimeperiodsarelinkedtogether:
