We use that to introduce an object clause that is a statement. 宾语从句是指在复合句中充当宾语的句子,我们用that来引导由陈述句充当的宾语从句。 e.g. 他认为他明天可以去游泳。 He thinks that he can go swimming to
3、morrow.,that 引导的宾语从句,Some people believe that colours can influence our moods.,1. An object clause can be put after verbs such as know, think, believe, hope and mean. 宾语从句可用于主句动词之后,如know, think, believe, hope, mean。,e.g.有些人相信颜色能够影响我们的情绪,She is sure that yellow can bring her good luck.,2. An object c
4、lause can also follow adjectives such as certain, sure and glad. 宾语从句也可用于主句形容词之后,如certain, sure, glad。,e.g. 她确信黄色能带给她好运。,3. In informal English we often drop that. 在口语或非正式文体中我们常常省略that。,e.g. 我认为蓝色比粉色好。,I think (that) blue is better than pink.,你认为你的性格和你最喜欢的颜色相配吗?,Did you think (that) your favourite c
5、olour matches your characteristics?,4. 我们用that引导宾语从句,that本身无意义,并且在句中不充当任何成分,从句部分相当于一个陈述句。 e.g. I hear that you have passed the exam.,5. that引导的宾语从句相关的内容 1. 语序 不论什么情况下,宾语从句都要用陈述语序,即“主语谓语其它”。 e.g. Do you think (that) the radio is too noisy? 你认为收音机太吵吗?,2. 时态,that引导的宾语从句,1.主句用一般现在时,从句可以用符合句意要求的任一时态。,He
6、says (that) they have returned already.,e.g. 他说他们已 经回来了。,2.如果主句用一般过去时,从句要用过去时态的某种形式(一般过去时,过去进行时)。,e.g. 他说他买了本新词典。,He said (that) he bought a new dictionary.,注如果从句表达的是客观事实、真理、自然现象、名言、警句、格言、谚语等等,尽管主句用一般过去时,从句也要用一般现在时。,e.g. 我们老师告诉我们,光比声音传播得快。,Our teacher told us that light travels faster than sound.,Sa

The word order in the clause should be the same as that in a statement.,1. whether和if都可以引导宾语从句,此时从句部分的语义相
