We learn about the world through the five senses. We use the five senses to study, work and relax. I think we are lucky to have all the five sen

7、ses. These senses help us to enjoy our life. But as a matter of fact, there are some people who have lost one or more of their senses.1 Do you know how blind people read?They can read by touching raised dots which represent numbers and letters. This system is called Braille.2 How do the deaf communi

8、cate with each other?They use sign language or body language.3 What are your feelings about these people?I felt a great pity for these people. As for me, I think, I should treasure my life and study hard in order to do more things for our society. And on the other hand, we should do what we can to h

In some cases, different parts of speech (usually a noun and a verb) have the

28、 same spelling but different meanings.Step 2: Grammar focusAs a matter of fact, we have learned so many words like “rest” which has more than one part of speech. Traditional grammar classifies words based on ten parts of speech: the verb, the noun, the pronoun, the adjective, the adverb, the preposi

29、tion, the conjunction, the numeral, the article and the interjection. Each part of speech explains not what the word is, but how the word is used. In fact, the same word can be a noun in one sentence and a verb or adjective in the next. The following examples show how a words part of speech can chan
