It was a small fishing village before. T: Right. Shanghai used to be a small fishing village. But now

5、it is a modern city. (板书) 2. T: I live in the city now. But I lived in the country before. What can we also say? S: I used to live in the country. But now I live in the city. Practice: (Rewrite the following sentences.) (1) Peter was short before. (2) My father went to work by bike before. (3) There

6、 was a green area in front of my house before. Key: (1) Peter used to be short. (2) My father used to go to work by bike. (3) There used to be a green area in front of my house. 句型“Shanghai used to be a small village.”,学生很容易理解 used to 的含义和用法。语法知识的归纳 1. used to 的用法 (1)used to 后面接动词原形,表示过去习惯做的动作或经常出现的

7、状态,常常用来对比过去 和现在,说明过去的这个动作或状态现在已不再继续或存在了。 (2)used to 的否定式和疑问式都各有两种形式。如: 否定形式: He didnt use to He used not to 疑问式: 回答形式: Did you use to ? Yes (No), I did (didnt). Used you to ? Yes (No), I used to (usednt to ) 2. used to 和 be used to 的结构区别 (1)used to 表示“过去常常做某事”而现在已不做了,其中“to”是不定式标志,后跟动词 原形。 (2)be used

8、 to 表示“习惯于做某事”,其中“to”是介词,后跟名词或动名词。四、New words &Tuning In Teaching Materials: students book, pictures in Tuning In Procedure: 1. T: Which housing estate do you like best? Why?五、Text 1. Review the Tuning In. 2. Introduce the background of the text. T: We know

12、 , the Wangs used to live in a small flat. They have already moved to a new flat. Now they live in a new flat. It is bigger. One day, Wang Qiang went to visit his friend, Li Gang. They talked about the new housing estate. 3. Ask students to describe the picture of the text.4. Students listen to the

Students do Comprehension Check: Fill in the blanks, then check the answers orally. 8. Students read the text in groups, then find the important phrases and
