3、gone through great changes. After the founding of the Peoples Republic of China, here it established the administration Prefecture of Southern Shaanxi in 1951. It changed to Hanzhong Special Administration Area in 1954. Afterwards, it became Hanzhong Prefecture in 1968 and finally became Hanzhong Ci

4、ty in 1996. Hanzhong governs one district, 10 counties and one Provincial Economic Development Zone. It covers an area of 27200 square kilometers with a population of 3.82 million.Thanks to the long history and splendid culture, Hanzhong was the cradle for Liu Bang, the first emperor of the Han Dyna

5、sty, to establish his kingdom. It was the base for Mr. Zhuge Liang, the Prime Minister of Shu Kingdom and great wise man, to fight against the Wei Kingdom in the north. The Han Diao Guangguang, the Hanzhong Opera, and the traditional process of making paper in Yangxian County are among 34 national and provincial cultural intangible heritages in Hanzhong. .
