5、较长的主语从句,常以that/whether/if/when/who/why/where等引导,将原来的主语从句后置,避免头重脚轻。,e.g.,It is clear that he is very rich. It appears that they have been waiting for a long time.,Grammar on the use of “it”,it用作形式宾语,用于vt. +it+宾语补足语(adj./n. phrase)+宾语从句或vt. +it+宾语从句或vi. +prep. +it+宾语从句中。当复合宾语中的宾语是从句时,往往把宾语置于其补足语的后面,而将
6、先行词it放在全句谓语动词和宾语补足语的中间。,e.g.,I think it very important that we should learn English pronunciation well. I take it from your silence that you dont want to go. You must see to it that children get up in time.,引导词it用在强调结构中,即It +be+被强调部分(主/宾/状语)+who/that引导的从句。当我们要强调句子的某一部分(通常是主语、宾语或状语)时, 常用“It +be+被强调部分
7、+who/that”结构。当被强调部分是人时用who或that,其他情况用that。,e.g.,It was we who held a class meeting in the club yesterday.(强调主语) It was yesterday that we held a class meeting in the club.(强调状语) It was a class meeting that we held in the club yesterday.(强调宾语),Grammar on the use of “it”,Further practice,1. _ was Anne
