Making an order. 难点To describe the uses of watch tools. 教学回顾 这是一次公开课。也是一次教学改革及创新的尝试。由于精心准备,学生积极配合,因此取得良好的教学效果。学生从认识钟表工具的名称,到用途的描述、网上购买钟表工具并电话确认这一系列活动,很好地完成了整个教学过程。 本次课在钟表实训室进行。使语言教学与实践工作及岗位紧密相联,具有一定的意义,为今后我校实行双语教学起到很好的引导作用,也是今后职业教育英语教学的改革方向。说明钟表英语是为我校钟表专业学生开设的一门专业英语课。由于目前在国内尚无正式出版的相关教材,因此学生所采用的教材是本人编写的钟表英语讲义。因编写时间苍促,因此在教学上对部分内容作了一些修订。以便更好地实现本专业学生的培养目标并达到最好的教学效果。审阅: 年 月 日Unit 7 Watch Tools (教学目标)Knowledge(应知)Students will be able to: 1 Recognize the vocabulary of watch tools.2 Know the steps of shopping online.II. Revision (5 Minutes) Goal: To review the external parts of a watch learned in unit 6. movement (机芯), case (表壳), dial (表面), hands(指针),crystal(水晶), bezel(外圈), crown(表冠), bracelet(表链), strap(表带), clasp(表扣), back case(表后壳)1. Take out a watch and point at each part of the watch while asking individuals to tell them in English . 2. Show the pictures of the external parts of a watch one by one on PPT while reading them together with the whole class loudly. Step 2. Vocabulary ( 15 Minutes) Goal: To master vocabulary related to watch tools. 1. Warm up by asking the following questions while presenting the pictures on PPT.-What are they? -Can you find them in your toolkit? -What are they used for? -What is the price? -How do you use them?2. Set the task: Find as many tools as you can in your toolkit and try to finish filling the forms in Task paper 1 as following. Ss complete the task individually without using a dictionary. Requirements: a. To write down the watch tools both in Chinese and English;b. To tell the uses of each tool by writing down a verb;c. To guess out the price of each tool. Verbs used to describe the usages of watch tools: open, hold, remove, shorten, fix, set, measure, adjust, etc. 5. Give Ss 2 Minutes to have a further recognition about each word. Step 3. Speaking (15 Minutes)Goal: To practice Ss skill of speaking: how to describe the uses of watch tools. 1. Take individual tool while asking and answering such questions:-What is this? Yes, its a case opener. -What is it used to? -The case opener is used to open the case of the watch. -Whats that? Its pliers. -What are they used for? -The pliers are used for sharpening the bracelets. Besides, they are tools with several uses. 2. Give some more examples of describing the uses of watch tools. The watch case holder is used to hold the case. The dust blower is used for cleaning the movement.The brush is used for cleaning the parts. Tweezers are not used for cutting. They are used for removing screws. We use the loupes to repair watches. 3. Ask Ss to pay more attention to the description of tools and the prices. c. Go around the class and give some instructions and directions. Period 2 (第二节课)Step5. Making an order (15 Minutes)Goals: To shop watch tool online by making an order and making phone calls to confirm it.1. Deliver Task Paper 2 to each group and explain the items of the order. 2. Set the task: a. Suppose you are students majored in horology. Your teacher asks you to buy some watch tools online so that you can use them for practicing your skills in your profession. b. You have read information about toolkits on pages. So try to choose the proper ones. c. Work in groups and make a discussion. Then finish the following order.
