1、lesson 9a cold welcome中国新年中国新年 春节，即农历新年，俗称过年，一般指除夕和正月初一。全家人欢聚一堂，穿新衣戴新帽，吃水饺，看春晚，放鞭炮。在春节期间，中国的汉族和很多少数民族都要举行各种活动以示庆祝。这些活动均以祭祀神佛、祭奠祖先、除旧布新、迎禧接福、祈求丰年为主要内容。活动丰富多彩，带有浓郁的民族特色。美国新年 美国新年，在除夕晚上，全国各地教堂都会举行隆重的礼拜活动。人们聚集在教堂、街头或广场，唱诗、祈祷、祝福、仟悔，并一同迎候那除旧更新的一瞬。午夜12点整，全国教堂钟声齐鸣。乐队高奏有名的怀旧歌曲一路平安。在音乐声中，人们就这样怀着惜别的感伤和对新生活的向往共

2、同迎来新的一年。除夕活动，常常持续到次日凌晨两三点钟。 美国纽约，水晶三角“让那成为友谊”设计品。工人们安装了288块闪闪发亮的新沃尔福德水晶三角形在时代广场除夕球上。这些三角形是专门定做的，可抵御强风、降水和温度剧烈的变化。每年新年到来的时候，纽约时代广场都会举行盛大的水晶球降落迎新年仪式，这已成为世界各地迎新年的一大盛事。town hall 市政厅建筑出现于中世纪的欧洲。著名的有意大利佛罗伦萨史诺拉广场上的市政厅(12981314)和意大利西也纳城凯波广场上的市政厅(12881305)。 市政厅，旧称议事厅，它的职能范围，包括城市规划，公共卫生，文娱康乐活动，维护环境及保障居民的生活水平。
