water.Atfirst,Matthewjustsatonthestepsofthepoolanddidnothing.Ipushedhimslowly

downthestairsuntilhewasatlaststandingintheshallowestpartofthepool.Thenextday,I

pushedhimalittlefurtherintothewater.Bythethirdday,hecompletelytrustedmetotakehim

intothepool.Maybemylargesizealsohelpedgivehimasenseofsecurity.Hedidnothavetobe

afraidofanythingwhena200-poundguywasholdinghimtight.IfeltsoproudasIsawhim

standingthereinthepool,happilyplayingwithotherkidsinthewater.TheOSNFadultleaders

toldmethatIwastheonlyvolunteerwhohadbeenabletotakecareofMatthewwell.Ithinkwhat

madethedifferenceisthebeliefIhadinMatthew,likehowIhadalwaysbelievedinmylittle
