Readandunderstandtheseinstructionsbeforeperforminganyprocedurewiththisdrive.

•Manypartsofthisdrive,includingtheprintedcircuitboards,operateatthelinevoltage.DONOTTOUCH.Useonlyelectricallyinsulatedtools.
•DONOTtouchunshieldedcomponentsorterminalstripscrewconnectionswithvoltagepresent.
•DONOTshortacrossterminalsPA/+andPC/–oracrosstheDCbuscapacitors.
•Beforeservicingthedrive:

ThankyouforpurchasingtheAPOGEE®FLNP1optioncard(VW3A3314)forAltivar61drive.
IMPORTANT:thiscommunicationoptioncardisfullysupportedwiththeversionV1.6IE18oftheAltivar61firmware.
ByInstallingthisboardintotheAltivar61,datacommunicationcanbemadewithahostcomputerorotherdeviceviaAPOGEE®FLNP1network.
Thecommunicationcardhasa4poleopenstyleconnectorforconnectiontothenetwork:A,B,GND,SCR.
DataexchangesgiveaccesstotheseAltivar61functions:•Control(start,stop,reset,setpoint),
•Monitoring(status,current,voltage,thermalstate...),•Diagnostics(alarms).
Thegraphicdisplayterminalortheintegrateddisplayterminalcanbeusedtoaccessnumerousfunctionsforcommunicationconfigurationanddiagnostics.

WARNINGIMPROPERWIRINGPRACTICES
•FollowthewiringpracticesdescribedinthisdocumentinadditiontothosealreadyrequiredbytheNationalElectricalCodeandlocalelectricalcodes.
•Checkthepowerconnectionsbeforeenergizingthedrive.
•Ifreplacinganotherdrive,verifythatallwiringconnectionstotheATV61drivecomplywithallwiringinstructionsinthismanual.
Failuretofollowtheseinstructionscanresultindeath,seriousinjury,orequipmentdamage.
WhenwiringAltivar61drivestoaAPOGEE®FLNP1network,followallwiringpracticesrequiredbynationalandlocalelectricalcodes.Alsoobservethefollowingguidelines:
•Avoidareasofhightemperature,moisture,vibration,orothermechanicalstress.
•Securethecablewherenecessarytopreventitsweightandtheweightofothercablesfrompullingortwistingthecable.
•Usecableducts,raceways,orotherstructurestoprotectthecable.Usethesestructuresforsignalwiringpaths.Theymustnotcontainpowerwiring.
•Avoidsourcesofelectricalinterferencethatcaninducenoiseintothecable.Usethemaximumpracticableseparationfromsuchsources.
Whenplanningcableroutingwithinabuilding,followtheseguidelines:
•Maintainaminimumseparationof1m(3.3ft)fromthefollowingequipment:-airconditionersandlargeblowers,
-elevatorsandescalators,-radiosandtelevisions,
-intercomandsecuritysystems,
-fluorescent,incandescent,andneonlightingfixtures.
•Maintainaminimumseparationof3m(9.8ft)fromthefollowingequipment:-lineandmotorpowerwiring,
-transformers,-generators,
-alternators.
Whenwiringinelectricalequipmentroomsorlargeelectricalequipmentline-ups,observethefollowingguidelinesforcablesegregationandseparationofcircuits:
•Usemetallicconduitfordrivewiring.Donotruncontrolnetworkandpowerwiringinthesameconduit.
•Separatenon-metallicconduitsorcabletraysusedtocarrypowerwiringfrommetallicconduitcarryinglow-levelcontrolnetworkwiringbyatleast300mm(12in).
•Separatemetallicconduitscarryingpowerwiringorlow-levelcontrolnetworkwiringbyatleast80mm(3in).
•Crossthemetallicconduitsandnon-metallicconduitsatrightangleswheneverpowerandcontrolnetworkwiringcross.
•Attenuateconductedemissionsfromthedrivetothelineinsomeinstallationstohelppreventinterferencewithtelecommunication,radio,andsensitiveelectronicequipment.Suchinstancesmayrequireattenuatingfilters.ConsulttheAltivarcatalogforselectionandapplicationofthesefilters.

Aterminationresistanceof120ohms+/-5%shouldbeconnectedateachofthetwoendsofthenetworksegment.TheATV61P1optioncardhasabuiltinterminatingresistor.Tousethisresistor,refertosection7.2.Hardwaredescription.
Atleastoneset,andnomorethantwosets,ofnetworkbiasresistorsshallexistforeachsegment.Thisoptionhaslocalbiasresistors.
*ItisrecommendedthattheSiemensBuildingAutomationFLNTrunkTerminator(PN:538-664)beusedandthatthenetworkterminationswitchontheAPOGEE®FLNP1card,SW102,besettoOFF.
