Logistics industries are considered to be the arterial and basic industry all around the world, and the development and concentration of logistics become to be important signals for evaluating the comprehensive competitiveness of a country or city. However, Chinese scholars are more focused on the study of manufacturing industry, while paying less attention on the study of logistics agglomeration, not to say the study of factors that affect the logistics agglomeration. In addition, there is a big difference in the development of logistics among different provinces in China. As a result, in order to strengthen and accelerate the reasonable development of Chinese logistics agglomeration, it is necessary to learn the current situation of logistics agglomeration in each province of China, and analyze the factors affecting agglomeration. Only in this way, we can associate the advantages and features of different provinces and cities, thereby making appropriate development plan.Currently, domestic scholars have made great achievements in the study of logistics agglomeration. From the qualitative perspective, these studies focus on the analysis of the concept, the formation mechanism, the competitive advantages, development mode of logistics, and the relationship between logistics agglomeration and regional economy. However, from the quantitative perspective, Chinese scholars concentrate on the measurement of logistics agglomeration and the association with regional economy. However, in the research of the degree of logistics agglomeration, more scholars concentrate on measurement of single or partial region, while less researchers study from the integrated aspect. Besides, in the choice of measurement method, more researches focus on the application of a single method, but there is little research based on the application of multi-methods and multi-factors to make comparative analyses from diverse aspects. Additionally, there is a lack of quantitative analysis about factors that affect the degree of logistics agglomeration.Given the current situation of Chinese logistics industry and on the basis several theories of logistics agglomeration, this essay make a research on the determining factors of logistics industry agglomeration. Firstly, this essay concludes and organizes related knowledge, defines relative concepts of logistics agglomeration, and descripts the AbstractIIcharacteristics of logistics industry and logistics agglomeration. Based on the Symbiotic Theory, the New Economic Geography and Competition Theory, and associated with current situation of Chinese logistics industry, we point out the theoretical framework of this essay. Secondly, we introduce the reasons of formation of logistics agglomeration and the relationship between regional economic with logistics agglomeration. On the base of those research and combined with previous studies, this essay concludes the factors that influence logistics agglomeration, including transportation, government, commercial circulation, economical factors, cost of local labors and so on. Finally, in this paper, we make an empirical analysis on the determining factors of logistics industry agglomeration. And we using logistics industry agglomeration and those factors as variable and explanatory variables respectively, we make quantitative analysis using panel data in Chinese thirty-one provinces from the y
