Lead-in A song about traveling. 2. Brief review of the target language in different activities. Guessing game Guess about the teachers vacation plans Pair work Students do pair work with the given words. 3. Listening Students will listen to a passage about vacation plans and write down the missing words. 4. Reading Read the passage and answer some questions. 5. Group work Make a plan for the coming National holiday in groups. 6. Writing a report about their plans. Students try to write a report about their plans and report it to the class. 7. Brief review of the target language in different activities. a. Guessing game T: Well, Im really happy, because I got married and I am having a 2-week marriage leave. Its a long vacation, right? Can you guess what we are doing for vacation? Guess about: 1. Where are we going? 2. What are we taking? 3. How long are we staying? 4. What are we doing in Hong Kong? 设计说明: 通过猜谜游戏,复习本单元的重点句型和时态。 b. Chant T: Im so excited about the trip. Im chanting for it. The teacher and the students chant about the teachers trip. Where are you going? What are you doing? Im going to the pool, Im fishing. Im telling my brother Tim my plan of the trip. Can you guess what we are saying to each other? Please make a conversation with your partner. There are five words to help you, try to use them. (leave, hear, plan, ask, hope) Students are supposed to make a conversation like this: A: Hello, is that Tim? This is Tina. B: Hello, Tina, this is Tim. A: Tim, Im planning my vacation to Hong Kong. B: Great. I hear that its a good place, When are you leaving? A: We are leaving on Tuesday. B: How long are you staying? A: For about two weeks. B: Great. What are you doing there? A: Im asking friends about places to go now. I think Im going shopping and fishing. B: Hope you have a good time. Bye! A: Bye. 设计说明: 用打电话的形式编对话,让学生在相对真实的语境中实现对要复习的目标语言 运用。 Step IV. Listening Students will listen to a fun conversation and write down the missing words. T: You made really good conversations. Do you want to know what we really say? Please listen to the conversation: M: Hello, is that Tim? This is Tina. B: Hello, Tina. M: Tim, Im so excited. Im (planning) my vacation to Hong Kong. B: Good, I (hear)that Hong Kong is a good place to go sightseeing. M: Yeah, Im (asking) friends about places to visit in Hong Kong. I think Im going shopping, fishing and H: Oh, Im M: DancingYeah, Im going dancing. We are (leaving) on Tuesday, and B: Sorry, Tina, Im busy now. I (hope) you have a good time! Bye! M: Hey, wait! Whats your plan of National Day? Are you going back home? Hey, Tim, Tim a. Listen and try to get the whole meaning. b. T: You know National Day is coming, so I asked Tim about his plan. The next day he sent me an E-mail about his plan for the National Day.
