Part A Self-introduction Topics nHometown: Where are you from? How long have you lived there? How does your hometown compare with (place where the candidate is living) ? nFamily: What about your family? nWork / Study: What do you do? / Do you work or study? Part A Self-introduction Topics nIf the candidate already working 1. What does your work involve? 2. Is your job something you had always wanted to do? 3.How long do you think you will stay in this job? nIf the candidate still at school, college 1. What are you studying? /your favorite subjects at school? 2. What do you want to do in the future? 3. What qualifications do you need? Study abroad) Part B Collaboration (5 minutes) nInterviewer initiates questions on a certain topic. nCandidates choose 3 from the given list and talk with each other. Eg. Causes of regional poverty - lack of natural resources - geographical position - poor leadership - overpopulation - lack of education Part B Collaboration topics nNatural disaster, environmental protection, nFood and health nTravel and transportation nEducation and job hunting nPoverty, crime and social problems nTechnology, computer, Internet, globalization, nFashion, sports, entertainment nMass media, culture Part B Testing skills / function nClarifying statements nExpressing opinions, attitudes and values nDefending arguments nGiving reasons, facts, examples nUsing logical and reasoning statements nComparing objects, people and events Part C Presentation (8 minutes) nExaminer gives a list of 3 different topics. nCandidates choose one to give a presentation.
