Unit 2 Listening What is an appointment? An appointment is an agreement to visit someone at a specific time. Whom do people usually make an appointment with? Doctors, dentists, classmates, friends, hairdressers, piano teachers, beauty consultants Make an appointment in pairs and role-play in front of the class. A: Would Dr. Block be able to see me at 9:30 tomorrow? B: Im sorry, but she wont have any openings until 11:00, unless theres a cancellation. A: Would 1:00 be convenient? B: Yes, shes free then. Sample 1 A: Id like to make an appointment with Professor Smith. Would 9:00 tomorrow be all right? B: Im afraid not. She isnt free in the morning. A: Could I possibly make it early in the afternoon?
