教学设计Unit5 MusicWarming up, pre -reading,reading,comprehendingTeaching analysis:This is the first teaching period of this unit. At the beginning of the class , the teacher can lead in the topic of the unit by showing some pictures and letting them listen to some different kindsof music. See how much students know about music.Warming up provides look-and-point activity to spark students interest in the topic. Many kinds of music arerepresented hereon both the tape and in thevivid photos .Students will listento eight kinds of music and are encourage to classify them and match them with the correct photos after this , students are expected to discuss and give their own opinions on the questions. In the part Pre-reading, three questions are designed to reach studentsaffective domain and to further stimulate their interest in the topic of the unit .students may be reluctant to talk about these questions except in pairs. The reading passage The Band That Wasnt tells about the development of a famous band “the Monkees” .The teacher can first get students to skim for topic sentences of each paragraph and the general idea , and then scan for further understanding . In order to not to let students feel much difficult , the teacher should deal with any language problems while they are reading .Four types of excerses are designed in Comprehending They deal with understanding of the reading . in order to understand the reading passage better , students are expected to work in pairs or in groups. The answers to the class.To consolidate the contents of the reading passage , students should be repuired to retell the own words at the end of the class . in order to arouse students interest , the teacher can hold a competition between groups.Teaching aims:Knowledge aims:1.Get the students to learn the useful new words and expressions in this part: roll ,folk .jazz, musician , predend, attach ,form , passer-by , performance , pub ,studio , millionaire, rely,familiar,dream of.2. Let students learn about different types of music.Ability aims :1. Enable students to learn to talk about different kinds of music.2. Develop studentsreading ability by learning to read about bands and let them learn different reading skills.Emotion aims :1. Arouse students great interest in music and let them like music .2. Develop students sense of cooperative learning.Teaching importance:1. Let students learn more about different kinds of music.2. Do you like music ? Howdoes music make you feel?Music is a kind of art of making pleasing combinations of sounds in rhythm, harmony and counterpoint. Music can produce a lively and happy atmosphere and bring people relaxation after hard work , which can reduce the tiredness.2. Can you tell about the differet kinds of music?3.
