My topic is “Chemical or organic farming?” It is taken from New senior English For China Students Book 4, Uint2. My plan consists of 6 parts: analysis of the teaching material, teaching aims, analysis of teaching theories and methods, analysis of the students, teaching process and blackboard design.Part 1. Analysis of the teaching material.1.The importance of this lessonThis lesson is an extensive reading passage. As is known to us, extensive reading is also very important to senior students. It can expand students vocabulary, improve their reading skills and increase their reading interest, so we must pay attention to this extensive reading material.2.Teaching important and difficult points in this lesson.Important points:1)How to grasp the main idea of the passage.2)To improve the students reading ability.Difficult point:How to grasp the new words and phrases and be able to use them freely.Part2.Teaching aims My teaching aims include 3 parts: knowledge aims, ability aims, and moral education aims.1.Knowledge aims: by the end of the lesson, the students will have a better understanding of the meaning and structure of the text, know what chemical farming is and what organic farming is.2.Ability aims:1)Use some new words and expressions in this text.2)Improve their reading skill and use English to express their ideas.3.Moral education aims: know about chemical and organic farming, and learn that chemical farming is harmful to peoples health, and that farmers should try their best to produce organic product.Part3.Analysis of teaching theories and methods.When I deal with this lesson, Ill try my best to carry out some teaching theories: taking the students as the host, and the teacher subordinate. Carry out task-based teaching and cooperative learning. Let the students receive some moral education while they are learning the English language.1.Teaching methods: “Communicative Language Teaching”.2.Learning methods: “Cooperative learning”、“Discovering learning”.This is a reading passage, so it is very important to develop the students reading ability. In class, Ill try to use encouraging and polite words such as “Do you want to try?” “Well done” “Any volunteer?” and so on. Ill try to arouse their interest of learning by showing some pictures about farming and food, and get the students to have a competition to answer my questions, I will also use modern equipment such as the multi-media and tape recorder to make the class lively and interesting.Part4.Analysis of the students.Some students are from the countryside, they know something about farming, but some students are from cities, they never do any farming work and know little about that. The students are in Grade1, their English knowledge is limited. Some long sentences are difficult for them to understand. So I will help the students in different levels to learn English.Part5.Teaching process:Step1.Lead-in1)show some pictures of farming and grains.2)show a short video about the famous farming expert Yuan Longping.Step2.While reading1.Fast reading1)Get the students to read the text fast and then finish the following questions.Questions:1.Why are chemical fertilizers so popular in farming today?2.What problems can be caused by using chemical fertilizers?3.What is organic farming?4.What is the main reason for using organic farming method?Then collect the answers and correct them.2)Main idea of the passage.Chemical fertilizers can cause many problems, so organic farming is becoming more and more popular. Ill explain my teaching plan from the following aspects. Analysis of the teaching material1.The importance of this lesson.This lesson is a reading passage, it plays a very important role in English teaching of this unit because we should lay particular emphasis on the students reading ability in senior English teaching.2.The important and difficult points in this lesson.Important points:1)Some knowledge about earthquakes.2)To improve the students reading ability.Difficult pointsSome new words and expressions.Teaching aimsMy teaching aims include 3 parts: knowledge aims, ability aims and moral education aims.1.Knowledge aim: by the end of the lesson, students will have a better understanding of the meaning and structure of the text.2.Ability aims:1)Use what we have learned to describe what would happen before-during-after the earthquake.2)Moral education aims: learn the bravery of facing the natural disasters from people in Tangshan and we should always hold an optimistic attitude. Analysis of the teaching theories and methodsWhen I deal with this lesson, Ill try my best to carry out some teaching theories: taking the students as the host, and the teacher subordinate. Carry out Task-based Learning and Cooperative Learning. Let the students receive some moral education while they are learning the English language.1.Teaching methods: “Communicative Language Teaching” 、“Task-based Activity”.2.Learning methods: “Cooperative Learning”、“Discovering Learning”.Since it is a reading passage, it is very important to develop the students reading ability. In class, Ill try to use encouraging and polite words such as “Do you want a go?” “volunteers?” “Well done!” “You did a good job!” “Thanks” and so on. Ill get the students to have a competition to develop their quick responses. Ill make full use of modern equipment such as the multi-media and tape recorder to make the class more lively and interesting. Analysis of the studentsThe students are in Grade 1. They are still at an age that would like to have competition with others. They have known something about the earthquakes. Some long sentences are difficult for them to understand. My topic is “The Million pound bank note”, which is taken from New Senior English For China Students Book 3, Unit 3. The teaching plan is divided into six parts. That is: analysis of the teaching material, teaching aims, analysis of teaching theories and methods, analysis of the students, teaching process, and blackboard design.Part 1. Analysis of the teaching material.1. The importance of this lesson.This passage is a play written by Mark Twain, a famous American writer in the 19th century. He wrote plays and novels with great humor. The play reflects a social phenomenon in the then society through Henrys experience in London. It is very instructive to students. As there are not many plays in our textbooks, this play is very important for students to learn. Students can learn much from the play and write short plays after learning this passage.2. Teaching important and difficult points.Important points:1)How to grasp the main idea of the scene.2)To improve the students reading ability.Difficult points:1)How to grasp the new words and phrases and be able to use them freely.2)Understand the form of a play, act out a play.Part 2. Teaching aimsMy teaching aims include 3 parts: knowledge aims, ability aims and moral education aims.1. Knowledge aims: by the end of the lesson, students will have a better understanding of the meaning and structure of the play, and know something about Mark Twain and his plays.2. Ability aims1)Use some new words and expressions in this text.2)Improve their reading skills and use English to express their ideas.3. Moral education aims: Let the students know that money is not everything. Dont judge a person only by his appearance. A person should help others and never laugh at others.Part 3. Analysis of teaching theories and methods.Ill try to carry out some teaching theories: taking the students as the host, and the teacher subordinate. Carry out Task-based Learning and Cooperative Learning. Let the students receive some moral education while they are learning the English language.1. Teaching methods: “Communicative Language Teaching ” “Task-based Activity”2. Learning methods: “Cooperative Learning”、“Discovering Learning”.We should pay attention to students reading ability, and try to improve their spoken English. Ill ask them some questions and let them answer, encourage them to speak as much English as possible. Ill also use modern equipment such as the multi-media and tape recorder to make the class lively and interesting.Part 4. Analysis of the students.Students have different English levels. Some top students have learned something above this play, but some other students havent. So Ill introduce the background to them. And the students are in Grade 1, their English is limited. Some long sentences are difficult for them to learn. Therefore I will help the students in different levels to learn English.Part 5. Teaching Process.Step 1.
