Why is a space left between the rails of a railway line where one piece joins the next 1 Some parts of the water are very shallow But in some places it is veryvery A deep B high C cold D dangerous 根据转折连词but的提示所填入的词应与shallow相反因此答案为A。 例2 .Mrs ONeill askedquestionsand she didnt scold us either A no B certain C many D more and是一个并列连词either为副词用在否定句或否定词后加强语势由此可以确定所填的词也应是一个否定意义的词因此答案是A。4. Heres a fellow who just walked into a bank and helped himselfso much money A for B by C to D of 表示自取随便拿这个意义的短语是help oneself to故答案为C 。5. If you want to learn a new language, the very first thing to think about is why.
