Spring Beginners ClinicSaturday and Sunday April 16 17 , 2011 Crackerbarrel Fairgrounds, Wrentham, Mass from 9:00 to 4:00 daily.Due to space limitations only the first 15 dog/handler with check, rabies, application, hold harmless agreement in will be accepted.Instructor Arthur Twiss, AKC Tracking Judge Goals for the Clinic:1. Show you that your dog can track,2. Teach you how to train your dog to track,3. Start your dog tracking,4. Equip you to pursue an AKC tracking title, if you wish.What to bring for yourself and your dog: 1.Weather appropriate clothing and footwear, (clinic held rain or shine)2. Portable chair,3. Pad, pens and whatever other note-taking equipment you want,4. Lots of food treats for rewards for your dog, 5. Old gloves and socks for him to find, 6. Flat buckle collar and short lead or tracking harness and lead, 7. Water bowl and water and 8. Crate for dogs nap time and 9. Sandwich for lunch.Conduct of the Clinic:1. The Clinic emphasizes understanding the AKC tracking rules and regulations, as well as teaching the needed training techniques to satisfy them.2. About equal time is devoted to lectures in classroom setting and to hands-on tracking in the adjacent fields.3. Each entered dog will complete 8 or more short tracks during the weekend4. To ensure proper individual attention for every student, attendance is limited to fifteen dog/handler teams. Each attendee receives all handouts.5. Coffee, doughnuts, pastries and soft drinks are provided in the morning and breaks.
