SchoolTibshelf SchoolUnisonNUTNASUWTVOICEGloria De Pierro (Local MP)Dennis SkinnerAshfield District CouncilSelston Parish CouncilYPLANottinghamshire FuturesDerbyshire County CouncilPartners of Ashfield SchoolWest Nottinghamshire CollegeDiocese of Southwell & NottinghamIn response to this consultation governors received 3 written responses letters all supporting the change of status to Foundation status. These responses came from the Local Authority and two neighbouring secondary schools who all state they can see the advantages of Ashfield School changing category to become a Foundation school. Unions within the school have been consulted during the process and staff have had the opportunity to meet with governors to discuss the proposals. One union, the NUT, made representations stating that the NUT do not agree with any change of status to Foundation status but no specific issus pertaining to Ashfield School were raised. All parents were invited to an informal surgery to discuss the implications of Foundation status on 6 December 2010. No parents attended. Staff broadly agree with the move and can see the advantages for the school but there are some reservations about the possible impact on the terms and conditions of the support staff employed at the school.
