This lesson is the first one of unit4,so,if Ss can learn it well, it will be easy to help them learn the rest of this unit.,2. Teaching aims 1. Knowledge aim Learn new word of different animals on the farm. (like: sheep, goose, hen, cow, horse),2. Ability aims To develop the Ss abilities of using comparative and superlative degrees of adjectives. To develop Ss abilities of using English to talk with each other freely,3.Moral aims To love the animals and plants. To know more about the nature and the world.,3.Teaching key and difficult point,1.Key point Help the Ss understand the comparative and superlative degrees of adjectives. 2.Difficult point,Part 2 Analysis of students,The Junior School students are teenagers who are curious, active and fond of games, competitions, songs and various activities. They enjoy studying in the exciting, interesting and relaxing atmosphere.,Part3 Analysis of teaching methods and aids,1.Teaching methods Task-based language teaching Scene communication teaching method,2.Teaching aids multimedia, tape recorder,Part4 Analysis of teaching procedure,Step1 Warming-up(5) 1. Listen to the song,learn the new words of animals on the farm from the song.,Step2 Presentation(15) 1.Show three pictures of animals in different shapes with multimedia.,2. Show a picture of the countryside. Ss start to describe the picture. e.g.: The air is fresh. The sky is blue. The trees are green.,3.Show a picture of the city. Ss start to describe it. e.g.: The buildings are tall. The roads are wide. The rivers are dirty.,4.Show the two pictures at the same time. Ss start to compare them with comparative and superlative degrees actively.,5. Listening Listen to 1a, which is related to the practice. Then finish 1b.,Step3 Consolidation(10) 1.Compete in groups. (Divide the whole class into four groups. Ss make sentence with each other use the words thin, strong, tall, brave and so on.) G1:Willy is taller than Howard. G2: Howard is the strongest boy in our class. G3:Nicole is taller than Fiona. G4:Alice is thinner than Stella. G4:Rebecca is the tallest girl in our class. 2. Give a prize to the best group.,Step4 Conclusion (5) By practicing, teacher and Ss conclude the rules of comparative and superlative degrees of adjectives. 1.一般情况下加-er/est 2.以不发音字母e结尾,直接加-r/st 3. 以重读闭音节结尾,且末尾只有一个辅音字母,应双写最后一个辅音字母,再加-er/est 4.以辅音+y 结尾,应把y变i 再加-er/est,Step5 Projects(8) Ask the Ss to make a survey in the class. Find out how many Ss like horses, cows, hens, geese and why they like them. Teacher guides Ss to use the sentence pattern. T: Which kind of animal do you like better, cows or horses? S: I like cows better. T: Why? S: Because cows are the biggest and they offer us milk.,Step6 Homework(2) Teacher shows two pictures of two parks.
