This went on for months until my 19th birthday. My parents sent me a great cake. But I absolutely had no one to share it. I threw out the cake after having one piece, with about 90% of it leftover. That night I was depressed, so I decided to go outside to the freezing temperature of the winter and run. I put my earphones in and ran about 2 miles at 11p.m. on my birthday. When I got back inside, I was proud of what I was able to do. The next night I did the same. I wasnt quick or fit, but I went outside and did something. The running continued for 2 months until I finally had courage to go to the gym, where I started swimming, as I used to do in high school. A month went by, and I started lifting weight and continually running.Looking back, I can see that exercise helped cure (治愈) my depression, but it didnt only do that. At the gym, I met new friends and back at my dorm, I grew confident to play Super Smash Brothers with my classmates. Now, I exercise for one hour and a half every day and look forward to that. I get daily to do what I love with people who love it as well. I hope this helps someone who may be or have been in a similar situation.24. What made the author decide to run at night? A. He gained worldwide fame as the bass guitarist and singer for the rock band the Beatles. However, its not just the words and music of his songs that Paul uses to express his feelings about things that are really important to him, but he has also closely taken part in getting together an exciting book for children. He has been working with illustrator (插画师) Geoff Dunbar and writer Philip Ardagh to find a way to put words and pictures into a story about animal protection. The result is a story with an important message contained in a beautiful book. Geoff drew every one of the books 84 illustrations and Philip made Paul and Geoffs ideas come together in a very entertaining way that all children will enjoy reading. Three lucky readers of The Newspaper Today won the chance to interview Paul about High in the Clouds. One day in Pauls office, Alex, Myles and Jessica wasted no time in asking Paul, Geoff and Philip how the idea for the story came about.
