When was he born? 他什么时候出生的？He was born in 1895. 他出生于1895年。be born 意为出生，后面加介词短语in 1895. 这实际上是被动语态，结构为be+动词的过去分词表示主语被.在句中，人是被生出的，因此用被动态，born原形是bear，意为产生、生育。2. start doing sth. Start to do sth. Begin to do sth 都可以表示开始做某事。start意为开始后接名词，动名词或动词不定式。eg: The old men started singing / to sing. 老人们开始唱歌。They started the party with dancing. 他们以跳舞来开始这个晚会。另外，start还有开动、发动、创办、出发等词义。eg: My father couldnt start the car. 我父亲起动不了那车。start与begin同义，都是开始，但在表示开动、发动、创办、出发等词意讲时，start不能用begin. 3. too.to. 太.而不能eg:a.
