To make students master the usage of used to、 Overview of Lesson PlanThis period introduces many words describing peoples appearance to students and provides them with listening and oral practice. Students will improve their listening and talking by sharing their opinions about the changes between a person in the past and now.V、Resources1、A tape recorder2、Some pictures VI、ProcduresStep1、Pre-listening Introduce some words descring people first. Then provide listening and oral practice with the target language. 1、 Warm-up (1a)Ask one student to stand up, then ask the rest to answer the question “What does he look like ? and What is he like ?”. Ask them to think about words about describing the peoples appearance and personality . Appearance:tall,short,strong,thin,long hair Personality:outgoing,funny,sky,kind,friendlya. Look at the pictures and describe the appearance.b. Try to describe the personality3. PresentationShow students some photos about myself in the past,ask them to compare and try to understand the target language“used to be”.I am strong and outgoing now,but I was thin and quiet in the pastI used to be thin and quietStep2. While-listening Try to make students understand the target language in listening material.1. First listening. a. Play the recorder and ask students to fill chart (1b )1. Mario used to be short .
