Leading inReview the expressions for different chores by flash cards Revise the main sentence structures, Could you please ?/ Could I ?,by Asking students to work in pairs to practice the structures using the expressions revised just now.Step 2. Fill in the blanks3a This activity provides practice with key vocabulary words.Read the instructions.Read the conversation to the class with a student. Say blank every time you come to a blank.Ask students to fill in each blank with the word” make “or” do”.Check the answers.Ask students to read the conversation in pairs. And then ask them to conclude the different phrases of make and do ,likedo chores, do the laundry, do the dishesmake your bed, and make breakfast.Encourage them to say as many such phrases as they can.Step 3. Pairwork3b This activity provides guided oral practice using the target language.Ask two students to read the sample phrases.Read the instructions to the class. Then say, First write a list of all the chores you do at home. Then work with a partner Talk about the chores you do and say why you like or why you dont like to do each one.Call attention to the list of chores in activity la. Say, These are some chores people have to do. What are some others? Write down some on the board. Say, Now write a list of chores you have to do.Practice making statements with the whole class. Ask a student to say the name of a chore. Then ask another student to say I like or I dont like (doing that chore). Then ask a third student to give a reason. For example: Student I says, Washing the windows. Student 2 says, I dont like washing the windows. Student 3 says, I dont like washing the windows because I dont like ladders.Help students find partners. Have the students work together for a few minutes.Then ask several different pairs to report their statements to the class. Step 4. Parents or teenagersSection B 1a This activity introduces the key vocabulary. Read the instructions. Say, Look at the items on the list. Some of these things only parents usually ask and some of the items only teenagers usually ask. Ask students to complete the writing on their own, Remind the students to write parents after each thing parents ask teenagers to do, and write teenagers after each thing teenagers ask their parents to do. Point out the sample answer. Correct the answers. Say,Then can you tell me when to use “could I ”and when to use”could you”? conclude the difference between the two structures together with the s tudents. .Say,we should use them properly in different situations,and try to be polite in our every life.Step 5. Pairwork1b This activity provides guided oral practice using the target language. Point out the sample conversation. Ask two students to read it to the class. Say, Now work with a partner.
