Show the following pictures and ask the students some questions: T: Hello, boys and girls! Please look at the pictures, and what can you see in the pictures? Ss: Animals.T: Yeah! I think all of you like animals. But do you know the names of them?Ss: They are koala and kangaroo.T: Good. Then do any of you know where they are from?Ss: They are both from Australia. T: Right. Maybe some students are very clever to find the word “Australia” in the picture. Maybe some students really know. Besides koala and kangaroo, can you tell me some other symbols of Australia?S1: I know Sydney Opera House is very famous.S2: I know a little about Ayers Rock.T: Great! But what is Sydney Opera House like? And can you tell me something about Ayers Rock? StepListening and speaking In this procedure, let the students learn some more about Australia. Ask the students to listen to the tape with the pictures on page 56.T: Here are three pictures. Do you know what they are? And do you know the answers to these questions in Activity 1? The words in the box and the photos may help you. Now, you can have a discussion. After two minutes.T: Maybe you have had your own answers.
