演讲稿 英语演讲：the space shuttle challenger tragedy addres ronaldreagan:thespaceshuttlechallengertragedyaddressladiesandgentlemen,idplannedtospeaktoyoutonighttoreportonthestateoftheunion,buttheeventsofearliertodayhaveledmetochangethoseplans.todayisadayformourningandremembering.nancyandiarepainedtothecorebythetragedyoftheshuttlechallenger.weknowwesharethispainwithallofthepeopleofourcountry.thisistrulyanationalloss.nineteenyearsago,almosttotheday,welostthreeastronautsinaterribleaccidentontheground.butweveneverlostanastronautinflight.weveneverhadatragedylikethis.andperhapsweveforgottenthecourageittookforthecrewoftheshuttle.butthey,thechallengerseven,wereawareofthedangers,butovercamethemanddidtheirjobsbrilliantly.wemournsevenheroes:michaelsmith,dickscobee,judithresnik,ronaldmcnair,ellisononizuka,gregoryjarvis,andchristamcauliffe.wemourntheirlossasanationtogether.forthefamiliesoftheseven,wecannotbear,asyoudo,thefullimpactofthistragedy.butwefeeltheloss,andwerethinkingaboutyousoverymuch.yourlovedonesweredaringandbrave,andtheyhadthatspecialgrace,thatspecialspiritthatsays,givemeachallenge,andillmeetitwithjoy.theyhadahungertoexploretheuniverseanddiscoveritstruths.theywishedtoserve,andtheydid.theyservedallofus.wevegrownusedtowondersinthiscentury.itshardtodazzleus.butfortwenty-fiveyearstheunitedstatesspaceprogramhasbeendoingjustthat.wevegrownusedtotheideaofspace,and,perhapsweforgetthatweveonlyjustbegun.werestillpioneers.they,themembersofthechallengercrew,werepioneers.andiwanttosaysomethingtotheschoolchildrenofamericawhowerewatchingthelivecoverageoftheshuttlestake-off.iknowitshardtounderstand,butsometimespainfulthingslikethishappen.itsallpartoftheprocessofexplorationanddiscovery.itsallpartoftakingachanceandexpandingmanshorizons.thefuturedoesntbelongtothefainthearted;itbelongstothebrave.thechallengercrewwaspullingusintothefuture,andwellcontinuetofollowthem.ivealwayshadgreatfaithinandrespectforourspaceprogram.andwhathappenedtodaydoesnothingtodiminishit.wedonthideourspaceprogram.wedontkeepsecretsandcoverthingsup.wedoitallupfrontandinpublic.thatsthewayfreedomis,andwewouldntchangeitforaminute.wellcontinueourquestinspace.therewillbemoreshuttleflightsandmoreshuttlecrewsand,yes,morevolunteers,morecivilians,moreteachersinspace.nothingendshere;ourhopesandourjourneyscontinue.iwanttoaddthatiwishicouldtalktoeverymanandwomanwhoworksfornasa,orwhoworkedonthismissionandtellthem:yourdedicationandprofessionalismhavemovedandimpressedusfordecades.andweknowofyouranguish.weshareit.theresacoincidencetoday.onthisdaythreehundredandninetyyearsago,thegreatexplorersirfrancisdrakediedaboardshipoffthecoastofpanama.inhislifetimethegreatfrontiersweretheoceans,andahistorianlatersaid,helivedbythesea,diedonit,andwasburiedinit.well,today,wecansayofthechallengercrew:theirdedicationwas,likedrakes,plete.thecrewofthespaceshuttlechallengerhonoredusbythemannerinwhichtheylivedtheirlives.wewillneve
