摘要 在国际贸易往来中，英文信函是中外企业使用最为频繁的沟通工具。近几年 来，有关外贸英文信函的课程，教材和参考资料迅速增加。但国内外对外贸信函 的研究相对较少，更缺乏对外贸信函进行跨文化的对比研究。本文将外贸信函作 为一种体裁，对中国人和美国人撰写的英文信函进行比较，旨在相对全面、深入 地分析外贸信函，从而为相关从业者和外贸函电教学提供一点参考。 本文以体裁分析理论为框架，结合礼貌策略理论，从体裁结构和词汇一语法 特点两方面对外贸英文信函进行分析。通过对随机选取的8 0 封中国出口商和其 客户在国际贸易过程中交换的电子邮件的对比研究，发现； 第一：从宏观结构上看。外贸英文信函具有统一的体裁结构：“确立主题- 开头称呼语一建立关系一提供信息一要求答复一加强业务联系一客套 结尾语一结尾署名”。外贸信函通过这八个语步( m o v e s ) 及其相应的话步( s t y ) 来实现其交际目的。 第二：从微观层面看，中国人和美国人在撰写外贸英文信函时都十分注重语 言的得体性，但由于中西方文化差异，中国人在礼貌策略上与美国人存在一定差 距。作为联系客商的工具，一则好的外贸信函除词汇、语法上准确无误外，更要 注重礼貌的传达，只有如此方可博得对方的好感。 体栽结构分析从宏观上描述了中荚商入在撰写外贸英文信函时所使用的体 裁结构，而礼貌策略分析则从词汇一语法选择这一微观层面研究了中美商人是如 ， 何具体实现此类体裁的交际目的的。体裁分析和礼貌策略理论相结合的方法较为 全面地对比分析了中美商人撰写的外贸英文信函异同点。希望本文的对比研究结 果能够加强外贸信函写作和外贸函电教学中的文化敏感度。 关键词：体裁分析，礼貌策略理论，体裁结构，外贸英文信函 a b s t r a c t m o r ea n dm o r ec o m p a n i e sn o wr e l yo nt h eb e n e f i t so fb u s i n e s se n g l i s l ll e t t e r s a sam 锄so fc o m m u n i c a t i o ni ni m e m a t i o n a l l l l d e d e m a n df o rt h el a t t e r sh a s b u r g e o n e di nr e c e n t ”：勰a n dt h e r eh a sb e e nam u s h r o o m i n go fc o u r 晒f o r c a l -
