摘要英语写作是多项技能的综合反映，在人们的个人生活与职业生涯中起着极其重要的作用。随着中国加入世贸组织以及日益频繁的国际交流与合作，英语写作变得越来越重要。然而，当今中国高校采用数十年的结果写作教学法远远不能令人满意。因此，笔者提出的倡导以学习者为中心的合作学习是教育改革的必然趋势。此教学法对结果写作教学法缺乏人际交流的缺陷做了较大改进。合作学习在英语写作课堂中的应用主要受到三种理论的影响，即认知理论，人本理论和交际理论。合作学习充分利用课堂中的动态因素，以小组活动为基本教学形式来共同完成一个写作任务。写作任务的设计以小组成员间的互动和相互依赖为基础，并需要其互相帮助。理论上说，英语写作课堂中应用合作学习具有各种各样的教育学和心理学优势。为了进一步证明它的有效性，笔者进行了次为期1 6 周的准实验研究，为大学英语写作教学提供有益的启示。下面是具体的研究问题：1 ) 证明合作学习在大学英语写作课堂中应用的有效性和可行性实验班学生的成绩超过控制班学生的成绩；2 ) 设计一系列合作学习的写作活动来确保合作学习在大学英语写作课堂中的有效应用；3 ) 找出导致实验班学生成绩超过控制班学生成绩的潜在因素。本研究选取上海大学两个来自不同系的非英语专业二年级的学生为研究对象，共8 8 人( 4 3 名女生，4 5 名男生) 。由于前测成绩显示两班的写作能力并无明显差异，笔者敢断言任何实验结果都与任何x一个班级过去的知识和能力无任何关系。1 6 周的实验班合作学习教学法控制班结果教学法实施之后，两班学生均接受后测。研究结果显示，虽然实验班与控制班都在写作能力上有显著的进步，但实验班的写作后测成绩却明显优于控制班。而且，针对实验班学生进行的问卷调查提供了许多有关学生成绩提高潜在因素的有利佐证。无论理论与实践都表明，合作学习是一种行之有效的教学方法。只要我们能够在教学中对其进行合理利用，大学英语写作课堂应用合作学习的美好前景近在眼前。关键词：英语写作，o
