鲁东大学硕士学位论文 摘要 英语成对词具有语义的统一性和结构的固定性等特点，是惯用语的重要组成部分。 以往的研究主要是对英语成对词的内部结构和语法功能的描写和分析，对语言的外部理 据即该语言结构与客观现实之间的关系有所忽视。认知科学的发展使人们对语言有了新 的认识。语言是一个自治的体系这一被普遍接受的观点受到了前所未有的挑战。在过去 的二十多年里，学者们通过大量的研究证实，语言从音系到语篇等各个层面普遍存在着 不同程度的非任意性即象似性的一面。尽管英语成对词与象似性之间的联系已经引起了 国内外学者的注意，但尚显零散，缺乏系统的研究和阐释。本文以体验哲学为其哲学基 础，通过对英语成对词的象似性考察，认为英语成对词的语言结构是人的认知结构或者 说概念结构的映射，语言的复杂性反映了人的心理复杂性。一方面，本研究有助于从理 论上深化我们对英语成对词的认识；另一方面，对英语成对词的象似性考察还有助于语 言类型学的研究，从而促进语言教学与语言习得，具有实践意义。 英语成对词具有很高的象似性，具体体现在以下四个方面：数量象似性，距离象似 性，顺序象似性和概念隐喻。首先，两个同义词或者类义词连用的成对词( 其中包括同 一个词的重复连用) ，从结构和意义上看似有重复之嫌，实际上遵循了数量象似性原则： 语言单位的数量与所表示概念的量和复杂程度成正比象似。词语重复使用以及同义词的 连用，增加了语言符合的数量，其所表达的信息量也就会增加。复数成对词也是如此。 另外，英语成对词中头韵和押韵等修辞手法的添加象似于概念的增加，形式的复杂映照 概念的复杂，也遵循了数量象似性原则； 其次，英语成对词中两个词之间的线性距离象似于概念距离：它们要么同义，要么 意义相关，要么意义相对，遵循了距离象似性原则。另外，英语成对词形式上的对称反 映概念上的对称，形式上的不对称反映概念上的不对称，也体现了距离象似性原则； 第三，英语成对词的词序相对固定，语言成分的线性排列顺序映照人的认知顺序， 遵循顺序象似性原则。有的遵循时间顺序，人类把对自然现象和人类活动的经验和感知 以时间先后顺序直接映照在语言表达的顺序之中；有的遵循空间顺序，人类中心论在人 类对时空的感知中起着重要作用，人在多维空间中躯体和生活的体验使人类对于空间事 物及其概念有多种感知方式并反映在英语成对词表达的顺序上：有的遵循标记性顺序。 有标记项在结构上相对复杂，认识上也较为复杂，在思维处理过程中就需要较大的精力 和注意力，信息处理所需时间就较长，因而在分布上频率相对要低，在认知上不如无标 记项显著。标记性从无到有的顺序象似于人的认知顺序也直接体现在英语成对词的组 v 鲁东大学硕士学位论文 词顺序上。另外，语言的社会性决定了英语成对词的词序不可避免的要受到文化规约性 的影响； 在探讨了体现在英语成对词中的数量象似性、距离象似性和顺序象似性之后，在本 文的第六章，针对英语成对词的词义引申现象，通过分析论证认为，词汇引申的过程就 是从始发域到目的域的隐喻映射过程，而这一映射过程实质上也是一种象似性过程。隐 喻的认知基础是意象图式，在概念域的映射过程中起着重要作用。而映射最终是通过隐 喻和转喻两种认知手段来实现的，它们之间的主要区别在于：隐喻是在不同认知域之间 的映射，而转喻是在同一认知域中进行的映射。 本文还讨论了英语成对词象似性考察的语言类型学意义。通过比较得出，汉语成对 词也具有很高的象似性。基于相同的认知基础和感知方式，两种语言中的成对词显示出
