山东大学硕士学位论文 摘要 海明威是一位独特神秘，艺术别具魅力的作家。他归属于现代主义文学的时代， 但却不逐潮随波，仍峰守自己的创作原则。保持其独具的文学视角，探索人生、 社会及整个世界的哲学大问题，像是十九世纪的现实主义作家，但显然比他们 的眼界更宽阔，手法更丰富，思考更深入。正因为他的固执与特别，文学史上 鲜有哪位作家同时拥有像他那样多的崇拜者和诋毁者。他沈炼的写作风格，他笔 下的“海明威英雄”以及他作为男人特征凝合的公众形象征服了整个文学世界。 至于海明威其人，他的个性复杂难解，以至对其最亲近的人依旧是个谜。其实， 他的公众形象与作家实际中的自我存在着很大的距离。海明威，作为一位世界经 典文学宗师，有关他的评论文章早已大大超过他的作品数量总和，似乎人们对于 他早该无话可说；然而，他的作品仍留下了不少学术争议，而且读者对于海明威 还有一些不恰当的印象，同时，海明威研究本身也需要“与时俱进”，不断发现 新的思路和未开拓的疆域。海明威的二重性就是这样一个新的未被太多评论家涉 足的领域，它能为其研究提供新的视角与阐释。 海明威思想与作品中充满了二重性，因此显得迷离难解；研究者执其一端不及 其余，因此导致解读大相径庭。前人的累积现已能够使我们从对其某一面探讨的 拘囿中跳脱出来，进而对其二重性现象本身进行系统思索。本文讨论了海明威作 品以及他的美学思想中的对立二重性现象。它以尼采在悲剧的诞生中提出的 酒神与同神的概念为理论法则，将其凌之于具体的对立而又统一的单元。提出了 酒神与r 神的对立二重性的概念，并主张这一二重性是统领海明威作品以及其美 学思想的线索与灵魂。 本文分为四个章节。第一章为酒神与同神概念的解释与推衍。它首先追溯于希 腊神话，介绍了作为抽象酒神与日神概念原型的阿波罗与迪奥尼索斯神，他们在 了分类论述，渔狩猎饮、事功劳作被分别赋予酒神和日神的属性。 第三章分析了海明威在“再现”( r e p r e s e n t a t i o n ) 方面的对立二重性。第一部 分揭示海明威的表现主题，也即“自然”与“文明”中存在的对立统一：其中 自然被赋予同神精神的特征，而文明则成为酒神精神的表现。第二部分评述再现 方式，即海明威文体中删减与重复写作技巧的对立二重性。最后，海明威写作主 题与写作风格的二元对立现象得到发现与阐释。 第四章从文本转而审视海明威的美学与哲学思想，探讨他世界观中存在的对立 二重性现象。首先，本章总结了海明威生命中的不完美，他所感到的生活的苦恼 甚至痛苦；而后，对海明威的同神与酒神式的二重活动进行研究。同神式的活动 主要是指海明威所进行的写作，它已从一种艺术活动上升为他得以忍受生存痛楚 的举足轻重的哲学式的生活方式；酒神式的活动则主要包括饮酒、飨宴、猎捕、 垂钓，这是与安宁写作相对立，旨在获得陶醉的另一类行为方式。 日神与酒神的对立二重性是海明威研究中的一片新天地。根植于作品中众多酒 神、同神的对立统一单元，海明威主人公总在面对两难的抉择，接受命运的拷难， 并在灵与肉的分裂、希望与痛楚的共生中成就了他们悲剧的人生海明威由于其 硬汉的外表和多变的生活，常被诠释为歧视女性的大男子主义作家；然而他的作 品却表现出他对性别问题的独特深刻的处理与思考：他以酒神的特质来表现塑造 女性，并让他笔下的男性角色符合于同神的精神。由此，他的作品中才形成了如 酒神那样给予欢乐或疯狂的“阿米巴”或“婊子”式的女性角色和克制冷竣、恪 守原则的“准则英雄”。评论家对出现在海明威文本世界中角色的行为似乎多做 贬毁，他们认为如饮酒、宴飨、垂钓、打猎以至斗牛、技击等活动实在无关宏旨、 意义微小。本文利用尼采的理论对其进行了新的审视，提出将海明威人物的活动 方式分为酒神型与日神型两大类。于是，看似琐屑无聊的行为却揭示了他们生存 的方法，反映了他们生活的状态。倍克尔和哈罩代曾留下过一场辩论，起因于倍 山东大学硕士学位论文 克尔在评论永别了，武器时提出的“高山”与“平原”的分析模式。本文尝 试用“f 1 神式自然”与“酒神式文明”的模式对其进行新的评价与论述作家海 明威性格复杂难解，他乐于塑造一个与其真实自我相悖的公众形象。他并不是像 他表现的或是大众认为的那样一位峰强的硬汉，他其实有着似乎不该属于他的极 为敏感的心，有着时刻折磨他的精神或肉体的痛苦或伤病，有着比一般人更烦苦 的生命感受。他靠着使用言词，藉着创造故事来躲避、隐藏痛苦，因此成为了一 名作家；他靠着拳击、打猎、捕鱼使自己得到酒神式的兴奋，暂时忘却生存的痛 楚，因此成就为大众眼中传奇、勇敢的硬汉。
