摘要 翻译是一种跨语言文化的交际。在现代社会中，翻译扮演着越 来越重要的角色。翻译对等多年以来一直是翻译理论中的核心概念。 中外翻译学家对翻译标准提出了许多不同的见解，在实质上都认为对 等是翻译的基本标准之一。可是鲜有人提出怎样才能做到对等地翻 译。本文从语用学的角度提出语用意义的对等是对等翻译的基础。伞 文分为五个部分。 第一章阐述了确立对等翻译的基础的必要性，认为这个基础是判 断翻译是否对等的标尺。如果译本没有达到这个基础，翻译的基本目 的就不能实现。 第二章回顾了国内外对对等翻译的论述。各译者对翻泽标准提山 了许多不同的见解，可是鲜有人提及这个标准的基础是什么? 译者在 翻译过程中必须先做到什么才能实现对等地进行翻译? 其实这个最 先要做到的就是语用意义的对等。 第三章对语用意义进行了详尽地分析阐述，指出语用意义包括言 外之力，言后之力，会话含义，比喻意义和所指，沦述了怎样在翻译 中实现这五种语用意义的对等。 第四章区分了语义意义对等和语用意义对等，指出在语义意义对 等和语用意义对等发生冲突时，我们应舍弃语义意义对等去获取语用 意义对等。 第五章重申了语用意义对等是对等翻译的基础。为了确保翻泽的 对等性，译者应先做到语用意义的对等。但本文并不排斥其它的对等， 认为译者应争取更多更好的对等，使翻译更加完美。
