摘要 在整个翻译学研究中，关于戏剧翻译的理论研究一直较少为人 涉足，尤其是以舞台演出为目的戏剧翻译，更是一块被忽略的领域。 京剧是我国传统戏曲的代表，也是完美体现中国文化精髓的一种艺 术形式。但是令人遗憾的是，和其他传统戏曲一样，由于语言与文 化的差异，外国观众很少有机会能欣赏到用英语演出，并能保留其 原有韵味的京剧。为弥补这一空缺，传播中国传统戏曲文化，本文 将对京剧英译的标准和方法作初步的探索。 每种文本都有区别于其他文本的不同之处，因此一种翻译理论 和方法不可能适用于所有的文本。对于戏剧文本，译者也要根据其 特点，寻找相应的翻译方法。戏剧文本不同于小说等其他文本的特 点是它的最终目的在于舞台表演，因此对于京剧的英译，必须要保 证译文适用于演员的表演和观众的即时接受。在此前提下，本文对 京剧翻译提出了更高的实现其美学功能的要求。京剧凤还巢是 我国京剧表演艺术大师梅兰芳先生的代表作之一，通过对魏莉莎女 士的英译本t h e p h o e n i x r e t u r n st o i t s n e s t 的分析，本文总结提出了 几点关于京剧英译方法的设想。在语言上采用适当的技巧，在文化 上采用异化与归化平衡运用的方法，再辅以译者创造性的努力，京 剧翻译并不是“不可能完成的任务”。
