衔接可分为语法衔接和词汇衔接，语法衔接靠语法手段来实现，而词汇衔 接则通过词汇的选择来实现。词汇衔接是实现语篇连贯的多种衔接机制中最重 要的一种。它是唯一有系统地构成多重关系的衔接方式，也是创造篇章织体的 主要手段，对衔接的研究大部分是对词汇的研究。在对h a l l i d a y 和h a s a n 的英 语的衔接与h o e y 的语篇中的词汇模式进行了对比之后，可以发现前者使 用的范围更广，更易被学生掌握，因此也能更好的在课堂中使用。所以，本文 主要以h a l l i d a y 的研究成果为：基础，同时采用h o e y 的部分观点分析英语篇章中 词汇衔接的模式及其作用。为了使本文有更强的针对性，所选例子均来自于大 学英语。 词汇衔接模式理论对英语教学具有明显的指导作用。首先，它可以帮助学 生了解英语词汇衔接的特点，更好地理解语篇结构以及作者的写作意图。其次，
