摘要 语法衔接在语篇构建中起者举足轻慝的作用。它是赋予话谬篇章性的重要手 驻，同时还嫠誊缝缀籍辈结构豹俸臻。 因此，本文拟以韩礼德和哈桑( 1 9 7 6 ) 的语篇衔按理论为理论基础，在朱永 生等入( 2 0 0 1 ) 关子英汉语衔羧手段对眈研究的基础上，运用弱纳推理的方法， 对所收集的英汉语语料中语法街接手段出现的频率进行统计、分析，从中找出它 们的差辩，并试图从文化、哲学和语言逻辑的角度对差舁予以设释，从而指导我 们的翻译活动。 本论文出五个部分组成： 第一，弓i 言。主要介绍本研究在语篇衔接研究中所处的位置，从而确定研究 对象、研究目的及其重疆性。基于本研究魑英汉语的对比研究，所以笔糟主要采 用了归纳推理的磺突方法。撂我们鼹螺，语壤瓣比包捶宏观怼毙和微观对比褥秣， 微蕊对院又分为缩梅整的和菲结构髋的，衔接手段的研究满于非缩构住的对院研 究。韩礼德和哈粱搬通过语法手段实现衔接的衔接手段称为语法衔接手段，把通 过词汇实现衔接的徽接手段称为词汇颓接手段，这里我们主要是对语法缎接手段 湛罩予对比研究。葵鐾的就楚找毫它们的茬髯并给予解释。我们戋嚣邋，荚汉对眈研 究的目的之就疆描寻翻译活动，所以本研究的羹要性就在于把研究的结果应用 于指导翻译实践活动。 第二，本镁域獗究璎状熬回顾及本研究翳要考察的闫题。衔接作为梅戏语篇 熬羹要组成部分，设弓| 了众多学者的评究兴趣。澳大荆亚的韩礼德和晗桑( 1 9 7 6 ) 、 英国的盏库克( 1 9 8 9 ) 、侯仪( 1 9 9 1 ) 以及中国的胡壮麟( 1 9 9 4 ) 、廖秋忠( 1 9 9 2 ) 、 朱永生( 2 0 0 1 ) 、张德禄( 2 0 0 3 ) 等都做过掰接理论的磅究。他们对一些搬关术语 都绘过器寇，毙如：衔接、衢接手段、语篇等。铯们盼骄究对本学科建设和发最 都羹定了一定的蒸确，但对于语法衔接手段较为深入的研究著不多，所以笔者发 现至少有以下几个问题值得考察：( 一) 韩礼德提出的谗法衔接手段是对准英语 蛇，那么这些手段是秀也存在予汉语? 荚汉语熬这些衔接手段是否对匿2 基拢， 考察荚汉语在语法衔接手敌上存在什么祥的差异。( 二) 是否能从文化和语言自 身的特点对以上的差异予以解释。( 三) 基于对比的结果看在翻译实践中语法镦 接是怎样在两种语言中转换的。 第三，运焉实际语料对眈荚汉语的语法衔接手段。本章首先奔绣了本文所采 用的语料，接着对四种语法衔接手段分别进行了英汉语的对比研究。根据许余龙 所说的对比研究谮料选择趋予具有代表憾，笔者选取了闻文体、同时期和同话题 的英汉语 乍品作为语料。以语法衔接手段的概念为基础，对所收集语料进行统计 分析，结果表明：在篇幅相近的语料中舆语的照应、连接手段如现频率简于汉语， 汉语省酶出现频率毫于英语，这一点基本和以裁的楣关磷究相近；替代在汉语中 出现频率高于英语，这一点和以往的研究有所不同，这也是本研究的中心所在； 餐者透过荚汉语瓣文学谬蒋，秘技语髂，e l 诿谬体及荚港藤文黟汉语译文，三释 文体的八篇语料的统计数据显示汉语的替代均多于英语。 第四，对以上对比考察的结果从文化和语言自身的特点进行解释，并把研究 结果应用于翻译实践。衔接手段之所以在两种语言中存在着相似性，我们不难发 现是缘于人类的“语言能力的普遍共有”。相异的根源可能就复杂了，本文分别对 四种手段出现差异进行分析。笔者把这些原因归于两点：语言思维与逻辑关系上， 英语重“形合”汉语重“意合”，所以汉语中的照应和连接都不如英语多，而汉语 的替代和省略又多于英语；汉语中替代出现的频率多于英语也印证了语言“形合、 意合”的辨证性。关于语言自身的特点，本文主要对替代进行了分析，统计表明 汉语的替代多于英语，主要是汉语的名词性替代出现率多于英语，也就是汉语的 “的”字短语和“者”字短语多于英语的“o n e o n e s ，t h es a m e ”用作替代时出现的 频率。这一点主要从“的、者”的渊源看是由于汉语和具有衔接作用的“这、那” 有同根性。基于以上的研究，我们发现语法衔接手段在翻译中为了适合语言各自 的特点要进行转换，比如：汉语用名词性替代的地方翻译成英语可能用一个从旬 来表达；而英语的替代在汉语中可能会用原词重复来表达。 第五，本文的结论。从研究的结果看：语言的差异缘于文化根源又缘于其语言自 身的特点；文化的差异使得人们一致认为英语是“形合”语言，汉语是“意合”语言， 但所谓的“形合”和“意合”都是相对的；由于每种语言在语法衔接手段的运用上有 它们各自的倾向，所以在翻译中要根据目标语的特点对原语进行调整。但是本研究还 有很多的不足和有待进一步考察的地方，例如：英汉语的名词性替代。 a b s t r a c t g r a m m a t i c a lc o h e s i o np
