中文摘要 中国古典诗词英译研究，一直是文学翻译理论和实践探索的热门课题。唐 代是中国古代诗歌发展的全盛时期，作为晚唐诗人的杰出代表，李商隐的诗作 在题材上是包罗万象，在形式上是不拘一格，在意境上是含蓄深远。也正是李 商隐诗歌的诸多特点，给读者们留下了无限广阔的想象空间，由此也给学者们 提供了一片潜力无限的研究空间。在众多学者中，已故著名的美籍华人学者刘 若愚( j a m e sj y l i u ) 对李商隐诗歌的研究独具开创性。刘若愚对李商隐诗歌英 译成果最为显著，其最具代表性的作品是李商隐的诗歌九世纪中国的巴洛 克诗人。 目前我国翻译届开始关注刘若愚，但是现有的、且为数不多的成果主要是 研究他的诗学观点，尚无对该部作品的系统研究。作为一个尝试性的研究，本 文对刘若愚英译李商隐诗歌进行系统地分析，希望能够对中国古诗英译有所启 示，并以此呼吁更多学者投身古诗英译的理论研究和翻译实践。 以刘若愚这部作品为文本，本文是一项关于翻译理论与实践相结合的研究。 以阐释学理论中的三个重要理论即前理解、理解的历史性和视域融合为 出发点，结合文本中的译诗实例，探讨译者刘若愚的文化身份对其英译李商隐 诗歌的影响，并从多个角度客观分析其英译不足的表现和原因。 本研究结果表明，刘若愚的文化身份对他英译李商隐诗歌的语言形式和修 辞手法有重要影响。 关键词：李商隐；刘若愚；翻译；文化身份；阐释学 a b s t r a c t r e s e a r c ho nc h i n e s ec l a s s i c a lp o e t i ct r a n s l a t i o ni sa l w a y st h eh e a t e d l y -
