内容摘要 汉学研究家约翰特纳曾说过，中国的文化是最具文学性、艺术性、经历时闻 最长的一种文化。诗歌是一个民族语言的精粹，凝聚着丰富的文化内涵。中国的古 诗词是古典文学的最重要的组成部分，是中国的瑰宝。它因有丰美的音韵、严格的 格律、工整的对仗、紧凑精练的语言、巧妙的修辞、新颖深动的形象和传神的意境 来描摹景物、抒发感情而受到许多中外学者的青睐。意境就是诗词的魅力所在。意 境在诗词的创作和鉴赏中有非常重要的作用，无论是中文诗词还是英文诗。也正是 这一点使诗词翻译成为了一个难点。尽管译中国诗词费时费力，不一定能把原诗词 翻译得如原文一般美，许多学者仍辛勤地致力于这一工作。 本篇论文围绕着中国诗词翻译中的意境的重新营造，进行了初步而系统的研 究。 诗词意境在诗词的创作和鉴赏中都有着十分重要的作用。优秀的诗篇，都以其 意境而被人们广为传唱。对于意境这个问题，很早就有人注意到了。文艺作品中的 意境的概念的提出和发展，经历了一个漫长的过程，而且，到现在为止，也还没有 一个为人人所接受的概念。意境作为诗词的核心和“灵魂”，在诗词中的作用是不言 面喻的。它的本质必须从三个方面进行考察，即审美本质、文艺作品的内结构和外 结构。审美本质，就是历史性，即符合特定历史时期的客观规律。文艺作品的内结 构，即艺术家在作品创作中进行艺术思维的逻辑系统。文艺作品的外结构则是材料 符号系统。它把作家艺术思维活动中已经审美化、典型化的题材对象化为审美客体。 意境的最高境界是一种只可意会不可言传的精神心理状态和最高境界。它通过有限 的语言、文字、音响、色彩进入了无限深远的超越时空的境界。诗词意境的构成有： 情、景、诗歌语言及音乐性。 基于以上的阐述，本文首先谈了意象。意象是意境的基本元素。意象可以表达 诗人的主观感情，可以把抽象的、不易把握的概念形象化、具体化，以达到“言已 尽而意无穷”的效果。意象按其状态分类，可分成静态意象和动态意象。动静结合 是中国诗词中的一大特点。通过动静景物的配合，描绘出一幅美妙的画卷，引起读 者的想象。动静结合的这一特点决定了翻译中若要把握好译文的意境，可采取两种 方法灵活地处理好动静结合的画面：l 保持原作中意象的状态，即原文为动景，译 文就为动景：2 改变原作中的状态，即原文为动景，译文中则采用静景，反之亦然。 这两种方法都是以在译文中重新营造与原作相同或相似的意境为原则而做出的选 硕士学位论文 m a s t e r 。st h e s i s 择。翻译并置意象时，首先需弄清关系，加入必要的介词、连词等使其连贯。因典 故意象多含文化因素，翻译中要加注以解释其含义。 接着，本文论述了为了营造意境如何处理诗歌语言的问题。诗歌语言的表现手 法有赋、比、兴。这就是现在所说的联想、暗喻和象征。诗词主要运用意象引起读 者的想象，写诗词必然会运用联想和想象。而诗词里的比，已不是一般意义上的暗 喻了，它包括了暗喻、借喻、借代、转喻、拈连、移情、转品、夸张等修辞性的语 言形式。对于诗词中的暗喻，译文可采取：l 仍用暗喻；2 将暗喻转用“似，、“如” 之类词语的明喻；3 直接解释。“兴”多涉及意象，在意象一章中进行讨论。 没有音乐性就不成为诗词。音乐对于诗词的意境也是很重要的，它可营造氛围， 读起来朗朗上口。但因为中、英属于不同的语言体系，有不同的语言构成，因而， 中文诗词中的韵律、平仄、声调、韵等成为了特有的部分，要重新营造意境就必须 运用英文中的音节、音步、重音、格来替换。诗歌中的拟声词也要替换成英文中相 应的词语。 通过以上分析，文章最后给出结论，中国诗词中的意境，在英译文中的重新营
