摘要 田纳西威廉斯是美国最优秀的剧作家之一。他脍炙人口的作品 欲望号街车于1 9 4 7 年在纽约上演后获得巨大成功，囊括美国三 项戏剧大奖：普利策奖、纽约戏剧奖和唐纳德森奖。欲望号街车 被认为是威廉斯最好的作品。迄今为止对该剧的评论主要集中于主题 与人物，主要依据为原型批评、女性主义批评等，以精神分析学中的 人格分裂概念对该剧的主题或文本进行解读鲜有涉及，故威廉斯戏剧 研究尚有很大空间。 本文以弗洛伊德的精神分析理论为指导，讨论欲望号街车如 何再现女主角人格分裂的主题。人格分裂属心理学范畴，常被误认为 等同精神分裂。本文首先阐释人格分裂与精神分裂的区别，并从弗洛 伊德的相关理论和观点揭示人格分裂的根源为个人的创伤经验；自 我、本我和超我的矛盾；过度运用防御机制及社会神经症中死亡本能 对个人的打击。其次对女主角布兰琪的神经质症状进行分析，认为她 无法协调幻觉与现实、灵魂与肉体之间的矛盾。该剧描绘男女主角的 冲突，揭示了美国社会南方与北方、文明与野蛮的对立。 威廉斯在剧中对男女主人公性格进行了生动刻画，从外貌、动作 和语言上再现二人背后不同社会阶层的对立。剧中戏剧表现手法丰富 多样，如音乐、声响、灯光、象征和意象的应用，形象地外化了剧中 人物之间和人物心理的冲突，再现了人格分裂的主题。
