摘要 关联理论( d 锄s p e 而e r & d c ；硼r ew i l s 1 9 8 6 ) 起源于认知科学， 尽管初始目的不是为了翻译，但对翻译具有极强的解释力。格特 饵加s t a l 垮l s tg u t t ) 根据这一理论对翻译进行了研究，于1 9 9 1 年出版 了他的博士论文翻译与关联：认知与语境m l a 抽na n d 锄c e ： c o g n i t i 锄dc o 删。书中格特提出了令人耳目一新的关联翻译理 论，为翻译的本体论和方法论研究提供了一套有机连贯的理论框架， 在翻译界产生了一定的影响。本文通过对翻译中文化缺省成分的传递 这一个案进行研究，一方面旨在证明关联理论对翻译理论和实践的解 释力，另一方面为文化缺省成分翻译提供新的视角。文化缺省成分因 对文化的依赖性，其翻译是很难处理的复杂问题，因此，选择这一解 释力极强的关联理论对其进行解释和指导，不仅可以从理论上加深对 关联翻译理论的认识，同时也可以为文化缺省成分翻译实践提供更新 的方法。除“导言”和“结语外，分四章进行阐述。 本文第一章为本文的理论基础即对翻译的本体论探索。作者通过 论述关联概念的历史演进、关联理论的基本思想以及关联理论与翻译 的关系，肯定了翻译交际的推理性，指出翻译过程是一个寻求与原语 及目的语语境的最佳关联的跨语言的解释过程。第二章从文化和语言 的关系入手，指出文化因素是语言意义的重要组成部分，从而得出翻 译必须重视语言中文化因素传递的观点。从关联理论的角度出发看文 化与翻译的关系，指出翻译过程是一个寻求与原语及目的语文化语境 的最佳关联的跨语言跨文化的交际过程。论文还指出，翻译存在的基 础就是语言之间的不同，文化差异是跨文化的交际过程中必须面对的 问题。第三章主要分析了由于不同语言之间交流存在文化差异，从而 出现文化缺省现象。因此文化缺省研究应该成为当前翻译的一个重 点。第四章以关联理论为具体指导，探讨了翻译中文化缺省传递的可 行性、选择补偿策略的原则和根据关联原则采取补偿的具体策略，有 效解决翻译中文化缺省问题。最后总结全文。 本文从跨学科整合式研究视角出发，多维地考察交际过程中的文 化缺省成分对交际的影响，不但为文化翻译中如何实现文化缺省成分 从原语到目的语的传递提供了具体的可施行的翻译策略，而且解决了 文化翻译的标准问题。 诚然，作为一种新生的翻译理论，关联理论的翻译研究还有待进 一步探索。也许，关联理论还不能覆盖所有的翻译现象、解决所有的 翻译问题，但目前还没有发现比它更具解释力的理论，从对翻译中文 化缺省因素传递这一案例的探索可见一斑。
