内容摘要 弗朗西斯- 霍奇森伯内特是19 世纪后半期至20 世纪初美国著 名儿童文学作家，其文学作品以细腻的笔触，对儿童问题特别是女性 儿童问题的关注而著称。使伯内特跻身本世纪最重要作家之列的作品 是秘密花园，此书从1 9 1 1 年问世至今再版无数，销售量以千万计， 并被收入许多国家的中小学课本，被誉为“儿童文学创作中最伟大的 精品之一 。 然而绝大多数的文学批评家都是以女性主义或人与自然互惠这些角 度来分析这部儿童著作的。本文以荣格的原型理论为切入点，选取不同 视角，将“丑小鸭原型这一概念引入其中。所谓原型批评简而言之就 是从神话着手从宏观上研究文学艺术自身的内在类似性，即其程式、结 构模式和原则，并从整体上探寻文学类型的共性和演变规律。安徒生的 丑小鸭自问世以来就一直受到世界各地儿童及成年人的喜爱。如今， 平凡的小人物一美丽的梦想一不懈的努力一把梦想变成现实，已经变为 我们讲故事的一个固定模式。“丑小鸭已经沉淀为一种儿童成长的原型 深埋在我们那最初深远的记忆里。 秘密花园中的小主人公一一玛丽，也是一只丑小鸭。她与丑小 鸭有着十分类似的出身，也经历了很多相同的坎坷，最终成长为人见人 爱的“白天鹅”。本文通过分析玛丽所处的自然环境、家庭环境、社会环 境来寻找玛丽变成丑小鸭的真实原因。继而再通过分析人与自然和谐相 处对儿童成长的重要性来探索玛丽及小说中另一只“丑小鸭 一柯林 n ， 是如何由丑小鸭蜕变成白天鹅的。最后，本文认为，秘密花园的成就 在于它不但是对“丑小鸭”原型的简单复制和继承，而是通过“玛丽得 到爱一一被治愈一一给予爱一一治愈别人 这样一个玛丽在秘密花园中 的成长过程，对传统的“丑小鸭 原型进行了突破和超越。
