摘要 摘要 盖斯凯尔夫人被称作是维多利亚时代描写“英国状况 的一位重要的小说家。 1 8 4 8 年她匿名发表了她的第一部小说玛丽巴顿，这部引人入胜，影响至深的 小说使盖斯凯尔夫人一跃成为英国一流的小说家之一。尽管许多文学批评家按照阶 级分析的方法评价玛丽巴顿，但这部作品中从头至尾都反映了盖斯凯尔夫人 对于人与他人和人与自我伦理关系的呈现和思考。文学伦理学是由聂珍钊教授2 0 0 4 年提出的文学批评新方法。李定清博士启发我们可以从人与社会，人与自然，人与 他人，人与自我这四种伦理关系将文学伦理学批评应用于文学文本批评实践，所以 本文就致力于用文学伦理学理论来分析人与他人和人与自我这两种伦理关系，发掘 盖斯凯尔夫人的伦理思想及其对当代社会重塑人文精神和构建和谐社会的贡献。 全文分为五章。 第一章介绍了盖斯凯尔夫人的作品和玛丽巴顿的研究现状，分析了盖斯 凯尔夫人的小说玛丽巴顿中所反映出的她对人与他人，人与自我伦理关系的 关注，从而提出了从文学伦理学的角度分析这部作品的新途径。 第二章介绍了文学和伦理学的联系，聂珍钊教授的文学伦理学理论的研究方法， 研究内容，李定清博士对伦理学中的四种伦理关系的解释和决定盖斯凯尔夫人伦理 关怀的因素。 第三章探讨了盖斯凯尔夫人在玛丽巴顿中在人与他人关系上的求善的伦
