山东大学硕士学位论文 中文摘要 焦虑是变态情绪之一，是一个人对任何被认为对自己自尊心具有潜在威胁的 情景产生的一种恐惧反应倾向。它通常表现为，当一个人的动机性行为在遇到实 际的或臆想的挫折时所产生的消极不安的情绪体验状态，这种不愉快的情绪，通 常可以用“焦虑”、“忧虑”等术语来描述。语言学习中的焦虑主要指学习者需 要用外语或第二语言进行表达时由于对预期效果不自信而产生的恐惧或不安心 理。 焦虑可能是语言学习中最大的情感障碍。焦虑产生的原因很复杂，不同的教 学方法导致的焦虑程度也不一样。国外对外语学习者在外语学习中出现的焦虑进 行了大量的研究，e l l i s ( 1 9 8 5 ) 把焦虑按特征分为一次性或情景性焦虑( s t a t e o rs i t u a t i o n a ls p e c i f i ca n x i e t y ) 和气质性焦虑( t r a i ta n x i e t y ) 。这是按焦 虑的作用来进行划分的。h o r w i t z ，和c o p e 又把课堂外语学习中的焦虑分为交 际焦虑、负评价恐惧焦虑和一般焦虑。a l p e r t 和h a b e r 早在1 9 6 0 年提出促进 性焦虑( f a c i l i t a t i n ga n x i e t y ) 和阻碍性焦虑( d e b i l i t a t i n ga n x i e t y ) ，认为促 进性焦虑有助于学习者提高学习效果。但许多研究者和教师则认为焦虑是一种情 感过滤因素，防碍学习者取得较高的外语能力，其负面作用远远大于正面作用。 如何在课堂教学中避免焦虑诱导情景，减少负面焦虑，成为对外语教师的一大挑 战。不过这些研究多是二语习得研究，即在二语环境中的语言学习。本文第一章 对国外针对课堂环境的研究成果，进行了回顾。和语言焦虑相关的因素有：自尊、 模糊容忍度、冒险、竞争、社会焦虑、文化因素、信仰、课堂活动以及教师和学 生的交互活动等。 基于这些理论基础，本文研究德州学院外语系本科生在英语学习中的焦虑现 状。德州学院自2 0 0 0 年由德州高专发展而来，外语系于2 0 0 1 年始有第一界本科 生，现在这第一界本科生正上大四。截止目前为止，德州学院外语系正好从大一 到大四有一轮本科生。近年来，由于国家高校一直扩招，出现了一批这样的新生 本科院校。德州学院算是其中的一个代表。研究意义在于以一斑窥全豹，大体了 解一下这类学校英语专业本科学生的语言学习焦虑情况。 本研究采用国际上广被采用的由h o r w i t z ，和c o p e ( 9 8 6 ) 创造的外语课 山东大学硕士学位论文 堂焦虑量表( f l c a s ) ，它的效度早已被多次多种实验所证实。首先利用此表进 行调查问卷，对象是从大一到大四各找一个班，因为班级是按成绩和男女生比例 所分的平行班级，所以一个班基本上可以代表整个年级的焦虑情况。问卷结果输 入s p s s 数据软件进行分析。数据结果显示学生总体上在口语方面有焦虑现象， 男女生之间焦虑情况没有显著差异，年级间在交际焦虑上也没有显著差异。而在 负评价恐惧焦虑和一般焦虑方面一年级和四年级存在显著差异，在一般焦虑方面 一年级和三年级也存在显著差异。一年级学生比三、四年级的学生显示出较低的 焦虑水平。这和研究者当初预测的结果正好相反。就此现象研究者又采访了任课 老师和一些同学。证实了数据结果和平时学生的课堂表现基本相符和。为什么高 年级学生竟然比低年级学生表现出更高的焦虑倾向呢? 有两点因素可能与其相 关：1 ，学生的来源有所不同，学生素质存在一定的差距，因为大四学生是2 0 0 1 年学院首次招收的英语专业本科生，学生大都来自德州当地，高考分数刚刚上线。 随着近年来学校办学条件的逐步提高，很多优秀学生选择了德州学院，学生来自 全国各地。2 ，近年来随着大学毕业生就业压力的加大，大四学生明显对将来感 到没有信心，从而影响到学习上的焦虑情绪的增加。 最后本文从如何减轻全体学生在口语方面的焦虑状况做了探讨，认为利用任 务性合作教学和小组讨论也许可以缓解焦虑情绪。对于减轻大四学生的心理压力 方面应该师生互相努力，加强沟通和交流，使学生放下思想包袱。 近年来，国内一些学者也开始研究学习者在外语学习中的语言焦虑。对于焦 虑既有纯理论性的探讨，又有实践经验的交流。国外的理论在中国环境下能否适 用，也是我们应该探讨和检验的问题。
