摘要 在语言教学中，学习者的语言输出一直被认为是极为重要的方面。然而，在 s w a i n1 9 8 5 提出输出假设之前，很少有人认真地考虑过输出是否促进及如何促 进语言学习的问题。依据s w a i n 的输出假设，可理解的输入不足以使学习者全面 发展他们的语言水平，为了全面地掌握语言，学习者不仅需要可理解的输入，。还 需要可理解的输出。输出在语言学习过程中发挥着重要的作用。它不仅可以提高 学生语言运用的流利程度，还可以促进他们语言运用的准确性。在输出的众多 作用中，本文仅讨论其注意功能。输出的注意功能是指对目的语言的输出能促进 学习者意识到自己的语言困难，从而使他们更加集中注意力，去寻找后续输入中 有关的语言特征，从而促进语言学习。在这个方面，研究者已做了不少研究，但 是大部分的研究仅仅探究了笔头输出的作用，很少有人探讨口语输出在语言学习 中作用。本文将通过实验的方法调查口语输出是否能促进语言学习者学习语法形 式以及参加输出活动的学生是否比只完成理解活动的学生更好地学习语法形式。 本研究的受试为济南某大学经济专业二年级的学生。根据接受实验两星期之 前的前测戍绩，实验对象被随机分为两组。一组是实验组，一组是对照组，每组 1 0 人。用于本研究的语法形式为过去条件旬中虚拟语气的运用。 实验组和对照组在相同的时间接触同样的输入材料，所不同的是实验组完成 图片描述任务，这项任务旨在给参与者提供语言输出的机会，而对照组只参与阅 读理解活动，完成图片排序任务。 实验结束后，两组都参加了后测和延时后测以检验他们对语法形式的掌握。 所得数据由社会科学统计软件包( s p s s ) 进行处理。 实验结果表明输出任务的确促进了实验组对语法形式的习得，并且效果是显 著的。在两次后测中，实验组的得分均高于对照组。 本次实验证实了s w a i n 的输出假设，对英语教学有一定的启示作用。首先， 我们应改变传统的输出观念，重视输出在语言学习中的作用，在英语课堂上给学 生提供更多的输出机会，让学生真正做到在学中用，在用中学。其次，在设计输 出活动时，英语教师应考虑多种因素，如学生的语言水平，任务的难度，输出活
