摘要大学英语课程要求明确将促进学生的自主学习能力发展纳入大学英语的教学目标。自主学习实现了从教方到学方的教学方法转变，使学生成为独立自主有效的学习者，因而引起了广泛的研究兴趣。随着对自主学习的关注，许多教师逐渐意识到学生主体性在外语学习中的作用不可忽视，并对学习者因素做了大量的研究，学习观念就是诸多学习者因素之一。努南指出：“如果不考虑学习者的学习观念，任何课程都不能称为以学习者为中心。”因此，要提高教师对学生自主学习指导的有效性，就必须探明学生学习行为背后的观念系统的实际运行状态，以及自主学习如何影响着学习观念这一问题。为此，我们进行了英语自主学习对工科大学生学习观念的影响研究，以期掌握在自主学习的开展过程中学生学习观念的变化情况，从而帮助学生快速有效地转变学习观念，成为真正自主的语言学习者。研究基于以工科为特色的天津城市建设学院院级的科研项目，在大一的四个工科新生班中进行为期一年的自主学习实践。作者在实验前后分别对实验班进行了问卷调查和半结构式访谈来调查学生的学习观念，并结合所得数据结果进行比较和讨论，分析了实验前后学习观念的特点和问题。研究发现，在自主学习的影响下，学生错误的观念得到了改正，学习观念逐渐系统化，科学化，符合了自主学习者的特点。最后，笔者提出了相关的教学建议，指出了本研究的不足之处，留待迸一步的探讨和改进。关键词：外语教学自主学习学习观念工科大学生二语习得ab
