o t h e r s d e s t i n y a n a n a l y s i so f b r a i ns t o k e r s d r a c u l a 摘要 布拉姆斯托克是英国现代著名的恐怖小说家。他在1 8 9 7 年出版的德拉 库拉中，成功地塑造了一位邪恶的吸血鬼形象，受到评论界的广泛关注。其中 有很多学者对吸血鬼的象征意义进行了深入的研究。但多数都局限于传统的心理 分析，没有进一步揭示吸血鬼成为“他者”象征的内在原因。这里的“他者”是 指一种文化通过塑造一个与自身对立并低于自身的文化影像，来确定自身为中心 的价值与权力秩序并认同自身。身为维多利亚时代的爱尔兰作家，斯托克敏锐地 感受到社会对“他者”的种种偏见。但作者并没有将现实中的诸多遭遇赤裸裸地 展现于文本之中，而是通过吸血鬼的故事隐现出自己的价值导向，从而躲过了维 多利亚社会的严格审查。 本文以法国当代著名哲学家米歇尔福柯思想中的权力话语为立论视角， 考察小说中以德拉库拉为首的吸血鬼们成为“他者”的条件及其象征意义。文章 主要从性爱中的“他者”、文化中的“他者”以及社会中的“他者”三个方面逐 展开论述。第一章主要阐释了以德拉库拉为首的吸血鬼们如何被沦为性爱中的 “他者”。该章首先以米娜为例分析维多利亚时代传统的女性观，进而确立露西 行为的反叛性。而德拉库拉又是将露西从一名温柔矜持的维多利亚少女变成贪婪 “淫妇”的真正主谋。他们都不同程度地颠覆了男性主导的社会价值观，注定会 遭到社会的排斥和消灭。第二章主要从文化的角度探讨德拉库拉和伦菲尔德的 “他者”形象。1 9 世纪，英国人将科学和理性奉为圭臬。但在科学无能为力的 超自然面前，他们便失去了最起码的抵御能力。而范赫尔辛教授所倡导的开放 性思维才是打败敌人的真正法宝。同时，小说中另一位非理性者疯子伦菲尔 德的言语也不时地闪现出智慧的光芒，从而向理性的权威发出了有力的挑战。第 三章着重从社会的角度分析德拉库拉的“他者”身份。在1 9 世纪西方的文化霸 权下，东方成了落后、野蛮的象征。而德拉库拉因其异乎寻常的衣着、气味和性 欲，“顺理成章”地成为社会的“他者”。另外，在这本日记体小说中，作为“他 者”的德拉库拉几乎被完全排斥在叙述者之外，知识( 包括写作和阅读) 作为权 力的象征，被牢牢地控制在权威者的手中。这并不是一个正义战胜邪恶的简单故 事，而是强势对弱势所实施的绝对控制。 本文通过对文本中“他者”的解读，找出界定“他者”的力量所在。作为 o t h e r l s d e s t i n y a n a n a l y s i s o f b r m us t o k e r s d
