摘要 外交是处理主权国家之间的事务。作为外交工作的载体，外交语言有着不同于一 般语言的特殊之处，其中最大的特征就是模糊手段的运用。外交家们常常运用外交辞 令来发表会谈结果，回答敏感性问题以及缓和外交气氛。模糊语言的简明性、灵活性 和概括性的特点正好符合了外交语言的要求。本文回顾了国内外众多学者对模糊现象 的学术研究及各自的理论观点，从模糊的含义出发，叙述了语言的模糊性本质，模糊 语言的基本特征和产生成因，并分辨了几个与模糊性易于混淆的概念。接着，在列举 了大量的实际外交语料的基础上，本文试图分析外交语占中模糊现象的特点及表现形 式，并从语用的角度出发，借助著名的语域理论、言语行为理论、合作原则和礼貌原 则，对外交语言中模糊现象的功能进行分析和研究。文章认为：在外交活动中使用模 糊语言，能够有效地促进外交关系的发展，达到表达礼貌、表明立场、保护自身、隐
