第一个英文版本为基础的。这一译本刚一出版就在当时的美国大受欢迎，其中 包括许多的美国学者及普通大众，此后老舍成为美国最著名的华人作家之一。 然而，伊万金的译本在国内受到一些学者的批评甚至老舍本人对此也不是 很满意，因为在没有跟老舍沟通的情况下伊万金对原文改动较大，除了对一些 文化现象及事件的误译之外，甚至还加入了一些新的角色及小说的结局进行改 写。1 9 8 1 年，北京外语出版社出版了由中国作家施晓菁翻译的骆驼祥子 ( c a m e lx i a n g z i ) 。由于两个翻译家文化背景及语言环境的不同，造成了两个译 本之间无数的差异，包括风格，叙事方法，甚至小说的结局。 本文以功能派的目的论为依据，对伊万金及施晓菁的两个英译本作出对比 分析。笔者将会选择一些能够反映译者不同翻译策略及目的的典型的例子进行 比较分析。试图通过分析得出功能派的目的论能够对实际的翻译过程起到指导 作用，并可以在以后的实践中利用该理论以取得更好的翻译效果。 本文由五个章节构成，第一章简要介绍研究背景及目标，试图使读者对本 文的结构有一个大概的了解。第二章对本文的理论支持功能派的目的论作出介 绍和说明。第三章笔者对骆驼祥子的中文版本及两个英译本进行了简单介 绍。第四章笔者对从两个译本中选择的具体例子进行详细地比较分析译者采用 的翻译策略及各自的翻译目的。第五章为结论部分，通过对骆驼祥子两英 译本的功能派目的论角度的分析，体现该理论在实际翻译过程中的指导作用。 通过对骆驼祥子这一文学名著两个英译本的对比研究，笔者认为这两 译本之所以采取了不同的翻译策略却取得了各自的成功，原因在于他们成功地 遵循了功能派的目的论，从而取得了非常好的翻译效果。 关键词：目的论，功能派，骆驼祥子，对比分析 a b s t r a c t l
