o n p r i n c i p l e s ； t r a n s l a t i o ns t r a t e g i e s n 摘要 改革开放以来，我国社会生活各个方面发生了巨大变化。新事物、新现象、 新观念不断涌现，许多反映这些新事物新现象的汉语新词也随之产生，尤其是其 中的政治新词，这给翻译工作者提出了更大的挑战。汉语政治新词犹如一面镜 子，透过它人们可以了解中国政治方面的变迁。准确而地道地对汉语政治新词进 行英译，对促进对外交流、经济发展以及树立积极的国际形象都有重要意义。 许多学者已经在汉语政治新词的英译研究方面做了很多尝试，但大多数只是 列出汉语政治新词的译文和翻译汉语政治新词的一些方法，理论性和实用性都不 强。 本文试图从目的论的角度出发探讨汉语新词翻译的原则及策略。作者首先介 绍了目的论的主要观点，这是本文的理论基础。在对汉语政治新词做出界定后， 作者总结了这些新词的分类及特点，而后结合目的论，分析了汉语新词英译应遵 循的几项原则，包括“应忠实原文的政治含义”、“可读性与通顺、“尊重惯译” 等。以这些原则为指导，作者又结合具体事例提出政治新词的英译可以采取的几 种策略，包括直译、直译加注、意译、回译等。同时基于目的论的要求，译者应
