内容提要 归化与异化是两种相对的翻译策略，也是翻译理论界研究的一个 热点。目前，关于归化与异化的理论研究成果喜人，多种理论纷呈 并立。但由于研究的角度相异，各种理论难以有相同的结论，有的 结论还相去甚远，甚至互相矛盾，缺乏一个统一认识的基础，有碍 于翻译策略研究的发展。本文拟借助传播学中关于传播过程的模式 理论，为各种归化与异化理论提供一个统一认识的基础，并在这个 基础上阐述了对归化与异化以及各种理论的理解。 本文首先探讨了翻译学与传播学之间的关系，认为翻译过程在 本质上是一个传播过程。根据传播过程模式理论，传播过程涉及七 个方面的内容：1 谁传播，2 传播什么，3 通过什么渠道，4 向谁传 播，5 传播的目的，6 在什么场合传播，以及7 效果如何。翻译过程 同样涉及这七个因素。基于不同因素的考虑来研究翻译策略，就会 得出不同的结论，甚至产生不同的翻译理论和不同的流派。当前各 种关于归化与异化的理论，究其根源，就是不同的翻译理论研究者 各侧重于翻译过程中涉及到的一种或若干因素，从而得出不同的结 论。但是它们的立足点都可统一于翻译过程所涉及的各种因素 这是它们的共同之处从而为这些理论提供了一个统一认识的基 础。在这个基础上，作者进一步阐述关于翻译策略的理论要综合考
