西南交通大学硕士研究生学位论文第1 页摘要写作直是二语教学中的重要组成部分。近年柬，语南研究的重点已经转移到语篇分析上来，但是在外语写作教学中引入语篇的概念并不意味着对词汇的忽略。本文通过实证分析探讨了两个涉及词汇选择的概念，却词汇密度和词汇衔接与作文质量的关系。旨在为英语写作教学提供一些白益的启示。与以前的相关研究相比，本文的独特之处在于将h a ll i d a y ( 1 9 8 5 )的词汇密度模式纳入研究的范围之内，同时在词汇衔接手段的分类上，综合了h a l l i d a y ( 1 9 7 6 ) 和 1 0 e y ( 1 9 9 1 ) 所提出的两种理论框架，以期为它们与作文质量之间的关系做出更为全面和客观的分析。本研究以某大学英语专业二年缴的6 4 份议论型作文为样本，观察分析了优劣作文中词汇密度特点及词汇衔接手段的使用情况。全文共分五章。第一章阐述了本研究的背景，殛顾了以往的相关研究，确定了研究目的，并简要的介绍了研究方法和论文的总体框架。第二章介绍了与本研宄相关的理论，明确_ 词汇衔接和词汇密度的概念。第三章详细描述了本研究的方法和过程。第四章对所得数据进行了定量的和定性的分析讨论。筘矗章总结了本研究的主要结论，阐明了其对于外语教学的意义，同时指出了它的局限性，并为进一步研究提出了建议。本研究由四部分组成。首先，进行一次前导试验，以证实本项研究的可行性以及预测研究中可能出现的问题。根据前导试验的结果来确认词汇密度和词汇衔接结的具体操作原则。然后收集语料，根据作文平均数将洋本分为高分组和低分组，建立研究所需要的语料库，计算出每一篇作文的词汇密度和词汇衔接结出现的频数。最后借助s p s s l1 5 ，采用描述性统计和推断性统计包括独立样本t 检验，双因素方差分析和多元潮归进行数据处理和分析。周时对分析结果进行定性的分析和讨论。研究发现：( 1 ) 高分组和低分组在词汇密度和词汇衔接上存在显著差异；( 2 ) 词汇衔接对于作：芝质量的影响大于词汇密度；( 3 ) 词汇密度和词汇衔接没有交互效应；( 4 )
