评论家们更是公推其为引领美国诗歌从现代走向后现代的核心人物。 换句话讲，称威廉斯为“美国后现代诗歌之父”实不为过。其中促使 威廉斯声名大振的，当是其参与开创的“客体派诗歌及诗学思想。 而在威廉斯客体诗的形成中，法国现代派绘画和中国古典诗歌的影响 功不可没。 本论文结合具体的诗歌文本分析，主要探讨和解读威廉斯早期诗 歌中视觉艺术的外来影响，并主要考察了来自法国和中国的影响。本 文选取了威廉斯早期的部分著名诗歌，这些诗歌均创作于上个世纪二 三十年代。这一时期正是美国现代诗人自我审视和对欧洲传统文化遗 产持有怀疑态度的时候，也是法国现代派绘画和中国古典文化传入美 国并引起巨大回响的时候，这二者都成为包括威廉斯在内的美国现代 诗人的一个重要文化源泉。一言以蔽之，是法国绘画界的现代流派给 予了威廉斯改革诗歌语言、诗歌结构及形式的创作灵感，而中国古典 诗学给了威廉斯诗歌“目击道存 、“即物即真的哲学立场，并通过 “所有的观念都存在于事物之中 的创作原则加以体现，最终使其得 以摆脱传统的束缚，形成独特的客体主义的诗歌风格。 本文分为四章。第一章主要介绍威廉斯与法国现代派绘画艺术的 渊源与交流；第二章借助于一些艺术家和画家的艺术理论观点，探讨 威廉斯诗如何在诗歌中巧妙地运用绘画艺术的表现手法，诸如色彩元 素，透视表现技法以及类似绘画中的画面构成的诗行排列的形式等；一 第三章论述威廉斯从“意象派 到“客体派 诗歌的过程中，对中国 古典诗歌的了解与吸收；第四章则详细分析中国古典诗歌对于威廉斯 诗歌意象的影响所产生的视觉效果，以及中国古典诗学对威廉斯客体 派诗歌创作的启迪。 通过对法国现代派绘画艺术和中国古典诗歌的吸收和转化，威廉 斯的早期诗歌呈现出跨学科和跨文化的交融现象，因而产生了丰富的 美学意义。 关键词：威廉卡洛斯威廉斯，视觉艺术，法国现代派绘画，意象，
